I suspect that something is going to happen carrier-wise in the next 6 months, ATT seems intent in locking down as many subscribers as they can ASAP.

2GB being the upper limit kills it. I routinely use ~5GB's. I'll pick up the EVO and stick with Sprint.

can you upgrade to iPhone 4 with a grandfathered plan? Or would they force you to 'update' it?

Those upgrading can continue to stay on their unlimited plan.

Good or bad, I checked my usage and learned that I've never gone over 190mb in a single month. Way too many Wifi spots near me.

Ok, so one of the touted Apps is the Netflix app, but it is useless if you are stuck with the data plan with 2GB cap, no?

Isn't that just a soft cap? So technically it's not useless... you just have to pay more once you go beyond 2GB. It's only as worthless as your sensitivity to cell phone bill pain. ;)

Yea, the 2GB might be a little low if you are doing a lot of streaming over 3G. One would hope that in most cases when you are streaming a netflix movie you will have access to a wifi network.

Then again, one can always just keep the grandfathered unlimited plan if you already have that...

Umm the built in 16GB or 32GB trumps 1GB to 8GB built in + 16GB Class 10(an additional $100) or 32GB class 2 microSD(an additional $200 bucks) every single day of the week. Even with Froyo you are going to have to root to use most apps from your MicroSD, as most developers are opting to not allow their apps to be used from MicroSD(Froyo doesn't automatically allow all apps to be used from MicroSD, it allows developers the option to allow it). As for "free" hot spot by rooting your Evo, sooner or later Sprint will figure a way to catch up to you.

The Evo isn't going to save Sprint. When Sprint eventually gets bought, there will no longer be unlimited data. 2011/2012 there will be a big time spectrum crunch and no US cellular company will continue to have unlimited data(atleast not for cheap).

The sky is falling? You forgot that one too.
