Now that 3DFX is gone, who makes the best PCI card for Multimonitor support?

I have a voodoo3 3K PCI now, and should do for awhile, but Who am I going to look to in the future for a second card?

Before everyone says, Matrox, they have a nice product, and I like dual-head, but if they are dropping out of the gaming market, this is no good for me... It would be nice if they made a good G4XX PCI card for us though...

Does NVidia have a PCI card?

ATI had some old PCI cards still floating around, but are they going to make anymore?

Anyone else care to add??

My Appian Jeronimo is awesome in NT.. real NT dual support... but not fast in games..

If you're just using it for a second monitor, which will probably just be 2D, Millenium II.

Why does it matter for a second monitor. Just buy a used card. My second card is a Diamond Stealth 3D 2000. I got it for $20 off someone. Works fine. It's not like I can play Quake3 on my second monitor anyway.

I have tried a 3DFX Banshee and a Matrox 220 4Mb Mystique, in windows 2000. I found the Matrox a much better card, as the banshee would display a corrupt image after the PC loaded and I had to refresh the screen to clear it.

I also have a Matrox Millennium II 4Mb in work as my second card and it works great in windows me. I'm probably going to switch to a Millennium II at home soon, trying to find a 8Mb version.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that matrox is dropping out of the gaming market quite yet. They still have the G800 coming along, which imo looks very nice. They are still the only manufacture to have true EMB, which only gets used in games (and technology demos hehe). You could always wait and see how it turns out, no doubt they will have a duel head card.

The PCI version of the MX is good. But just going back and buying a Millinium, or other 4M video card isn't the greatest idea. As a matter of fact I did that. I have a 4Meg Mistique laying around, and it didn't do the job. Not enough memory to support 1280x1024x32(or 16bit) color, and a 75Hz or higher refresh rate. I wasn't convinced enough, and tried a Viper 330 4Meg card too. It worked, just not well.
