!@#! Fayetteville is out and none of the other stores are close enough for me to get to work on time! (Opens at 11, work at noon)

Does anyone in the south Atlanta metro area want to pick one up for me? :D

They said the Kenesaw store has them...

Did any of the early buyers use the printed version of the preffered customer coupon that was floating around in .pdf form? If so, did they accept it or give you any trouble because of it? Also, where exactly did it come from? Just so I know what to tell the clerk if they give me any problems. I don't want to say I got it off a deals forum, don't think they'll be too happy about that. hehe Thanks.

Oceanside, ca bb said they had one but someone must've gotten it. BTW this deal was since last Sunday. Anyway I picked up a 200GB for $349 and 10% off is $315 - $90 = $225. Well I guess I'll be taking this back in a week or two. I wanted to use it ask an external firewire device. Turns out Oxford Firewire chipsets OXFW911 (I have two external enclosures) don't support past 137GB. Proof So that blows the big one. Registry hack doesn't help in this case. Yes I can use it in my motherboard (bios update not required) with win2000 sp3 and I can use promise controller in another computer. But it's not that same as being portable. So my new rule of thumb is 120GB is the max I'll ever get for IDE crap. Serial ATA is the only way to fly for larger than 137GB.

read the whole thread...

"Just to verify, there is a $40 rebate current right now till 1/11 on the SE 100 gb drive.

If you can wait till Sunday, their new ad starting 1/12 states that there are mulitple rebates of $40 and $20 for a total of $60 off which definately makes this even hotter. BTW, there is a nice rebate on the $200 GB also right now til 1/11, unfortunatly there is nothing in the ad mentioning whether or not that will be renewed for next week. Check in on Sunday!"

Just picked up my Sunday paper (the Saturaday night version) and pulled out the BB ad. Sure enough this drive is advertised for $89.99 ($149.99 - $40MIR - $20MIR).

Someone please have sympathy for me! I've had two of my own HDDs crash (Both IBM) leaving both of my desktop computers disabled. My laptop's backlight went out for the third time and therefore Compaq has it (10GB drive wasn't helping the backup effort anyway). I then borrowed a 13GB drive to get my dual-CPU system running so I could calm some angry eBayers when a neighborhood kid threw his PC on top of it.. killing my friend's HDD! Now I have THREE HDDs to replace. I'm surviving yet again on a friend's generosity with a borrowed 60GB drive, which he isn't too happy about. I can only afford 1 HDD now, but I can't get off work to cash in on this deal. If someone here has the coupons and cash and doesn't mind doing this for free, I'll can buy one now and the other in two weeks.

Please LMK by tomorrow @ 10... Thnx!

EDIT: I think I have it covered. Thnx! /EDIT

Just picked one up today using the 10% off coupon. I mentioned to the manager that there was a rumor going on that BB was gonna offer another $20 off this hardrive. He said no Prob, if there is just bring it back and they will take another $20 off for me. Nice hardrive for the price. May get even better.:D

Actually, it doesn't matter even then. ATA-133 support is seperate and independent from 48-bit LBA support. If you have BIOS + driver support for 48-bit LBA, it doesn't matter what speed the drive is. If the drive is large enough to need 48-bit LBA support, it will of course have that support built-in as well.

BB tried to pimp me on the 10% coupon I used on the HD because I bought a $15 item also. Cashier said it had to be applied to lower price item. Morons. All they did is lose a sale on the $15 item.

Well, like usual, I drive an hour to the only BB near me in Pensacola, Fl and they are oos. :frown: Did get a raincheck, so hopefully they will come in.

On a side note, the guy helping me at first said they would sub the 120 gig drive (2meg cache) and take off the rebates at the register. I wanted the 8meg, but no rebate hassle would have been nice, so I said ok. As he wrote it up, another guy came over and asked what he was doing and said wait, I think I should ask ?? for you. Came back and said no, give him a raincheck. Almost!

That would be sweet if you can get the 120GB no mir for that price.

Regarding the preferred customer 10% off coupon, do I have to be a bestbuy CC user to use the coupon?
My friend tried yesterday and got that answer from the cashier.

Just got back from the Rancho Cucamonga Best Buy, they have plenty left if any of you guys in the surrounding area are interested. They're not very much in demand there, theres even a ton of crucial ram still untouched. Anyways, I gave the clerk the printed coupon, she eyed it for a few seconds and then procceeded to scan it (thank god). As for a reciept, she printed it out on a big yellow 8x11 paper and in "special instructions:" at the bottom she wrote "Coupon 10% off hard drive for computer". Did that happen to everyone else as well? Anywho, I was sort of reluctant at the type of reciept so I headed over to customer service and asked. She said it didn't matter because I wouldn't even need the reciept for the rebate. She said I'd only have to send in the Rebate Reciept along with the rebate itself. So I hope she was right, when I did the crucial rebate I didn't know and I sent off a copy of the original reciept as well as the rebate reciept. Best of luck to the rest of you!
