I think I have heard enough from everyone. I interned at MS, and I have insider knowledge of the XBOX. Pretty much, their main goal was not to destroy all it's competitors, but just to make a dent in the industry, and I think the XBOX has done that. It only took em 6 months to develop the machine, and it's more powerful then anything out there, but they still need experience in games. MS has big plans for the XBOX, and will slowly take over. MS has some pretty smart analysts, so I'm sure they already took into account many things before deciding to reduce the price, and they prolly planned on reducing the price. In my opinion, I think many people are foolish when they just buy because they are being loyal to a company. For example, the GameCube sucks; they just recycle games that the original Nintendo had, but with better graphics. The only other good system is the PS2, but even that is pretty basic. It doesn't even have 4 slots for multiplayer. I'm also not saying that the XBOX is any good, because it has it's problems too, but atleast it's making some innovations. Like you can have your own music in games, and there is no need for a memory stick. Not to mention, the superior graphics.
I think the real problem with all these systems is the lack of gaming creativity. We've seen the 2-D fighting games, the RPG's, and the first person shooter. Really, the only new type game that came out was MGS2, and Halo. That's my two cents.
