The other day I posted about my dog that is sick. Well, I have a cat that is going to be 16 in April. My mom had to leave a little while ago on an errand. I heard her honk the horn so I went to see what she wanted. She said that earlier she saw some guy walk away from the back part of the house. (It's not abnormal considering we live next to a U-Haul place.) Well, we keep our cat in the garage/shed-type thing because I'm allergic and we have dogs. She's too old and feeble to be left outdoors. Well....all the doors to our shed had been opened and our gate was open so my cat is nowhere to be found. :( I'm soooo upset. :( I've had her since I was about 9 years old. So....those of you that believe in prayer....will you please pray my cat comes back home?

I definitely will pray for your situation.... that sucks that everything's happening so close together.

I will say a prayer for the return of your kitty, Heather. She will probably be back soon, older kitties don't really stray far.

Doesn't she get lonely by herself in the shed?

Oh no. :(

Poor kitty, I hope she comes home soon.

Leave out food, water, and blankets that smell like home. You may also want to call your local animal shelters/vets to see if she's been brought in.

Yes, and I feel horrible. But....I'm very allergic to her. If I'm around her for just a little while, my eyes start watering and my nose starts running etc... She was my very best friend growing up and I feel bad. :(

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

I'd run away too if you locked me in the shed all the time. Seriously, why did you have a cat?

I didn't find out until a couple years back that I was allergic. She didn't get put in the garage until we moved in January. She's always been in the house with us. She always slept with me and everything, but I couldn't figure out why I was getting sick all the time....so I went to an allergist.

oh, still though, it can't be to much fun to be locked in a shed for 2 months. I have 3 cats, all of them are 14 years old now. They've always been pretty free to roam anywhere they like. In the house, in the garage, the workshop, the backyard, the neighborhood, etc. They spend a lot of time in the neighbors yards, and around the backyard, but hey always come home every night.

I think your cat was probably bored. Maybe she'll come home when she gets hungry. I don't think you sohuld lock her in the shed though... did anyone even play with her?

My mom's husband and his son spend time in the garage, so she's not totally alone all the time. Plus, I go out and feed her and try to spend a few minutes with her. It's just really hard for me to spend any more time than that. I have to go in and immediately wash my hands, etc... It sucks because I really do love her very much. We had another cat too, but my grandmother has her. I really couldn't handle two cats. :(

EDIT: The room she's in was more about the size of a two-car garage. So, it wasn't tiny...although I know she would have been happier elsewhere. :( :(

i hope you find your cat..

did she have stuff to play with there like one of those cool cat condos where cats can play around that they sell at pet stores? i guess if found out that i was allergic, and had to put my cat out of the house, i would at least get another cat so it would have a companion to play with..

That sucks. I hope she comes back, and I hope it wasn't some crazy animal liberator punk kid. Make sure nothing else is missing (hopefully there was nothing to steal out there).

No, I think we found out that my mom's husband is the one who left the door open. We have all kinds of stuff in there, but nothing seemed to be gone, so it was prolly just him. It's a really big shed/garage-type thing. We have stuff stored in there, but there's room in the middle and there's a table out there and a lot of extra room, but nothing seems gone. :) Except my cat. :(

I just got back from the hospital. (Long story, but my step-dad is there.) I came home to make one last sweep for my cat...and she's home!!!!! I held her in my arms and cried for several minutes. My baby's back! :D

Before I went to go see my step-dad I fell and landed on my bad knee. So, we get to the hospital....I lift up my pants leg and I'm all bloody. lol So, now I'm going to ice my knee....but I wanted to share the good news about my kitty. :D :D :D :D

Glad the kitty is ok. Hope you are, too. At that cat's age, I'd get a prescription of Claritin or Allegra and deal with her inside. She's old enough to have earned that privelege.
I'm doing the same for my soon to be 17 year old cat.

Glad your cat is back home. They have a very keen sense of direction and always come back home if that's where they want to be.

Glad to hear your little meowzer made it home safely :) Sorry to hear about your knee though, and your allergies :( I am somewhat allergic myself but the Claritin seems to work pretty well for me, and it's supposed to go off prescription to OTC sometime later this year.
