now is a good time to buy laptop?

are dell and toshiba the only company that produce laptop with nvidia geforce 2 go chip?
i read somewhere that toshiba will release a new laptop series that will have 32mb vid ram for geforce 2 go chip on their laptop, anyone know when exactly? (maybe someone who work in the industry? )

been trying hard to decide either dell inspiron 8000 or toshiba 2805-s402. Or should I wait 1 more month?. I need a to buy a good all in one laptop for long summer vacation.

I don't know of anymore laptops with the GeForce 2Go in them but I know a new Toshiba is around the corner. This guy I know at Circuit City said he spoke to the Toshiba representative and she said the 32 meg GeForce is around the corner with a 1ghz processor. Possibly in a couple of weeks. This is what Im waiting for personally...

ahh neat!! Because my travel already planned for very early July.
Yeah I talked with the guy in circuit city when I was looking product demo on toshiba 2805-s402--he said the product is discontinued but did not know the reason.
If it will come out by next month before July--this is definetely the laptop I would buy..
I like toshiba because of its features...

I wish someone would come out with the Athlon 4 and a GeForce 2Go in a laptop. Ive been looking around at the laptops lately and the Toshiba seems to be the most for the money. DVD, CD-R, 15.1 TFT screen, GeForce video, and 850mhz processor. Over the past 3 weeks ive seen it drop in price over 300 dollars. Jeff at Circuit City said he would sell the s402 to me for 2199, throw in a leather case and 6 months no interest. Also you get the 100 dollar rebate from Toshiba and the Game Pack mail in.

i just wish the new ati radeon mobility chip would be adopted by notebook manufacturers fast. I Like sony but I hate their shared video ram system on some models.

toshibas generally have been most bang for the buck, but dell latitudes will rock it. I would personally wait till the Duron notbooks come out. Should provide excellent performance at a reasonable cost.

I too am waiting for a Athlon4 with an Nvidia chip integrated into a notebook. If I had to buy one right now, it would definately be the Dell.

too bad laptop/notebook product cycle time is way longer than desktop. Took 'em months and months to get notebook/laptop with new tech out on the market. ATI radeon mobility is one of the example. Even with Nvidia geforce 2 go-only 2 manufacturers--toshiba and dell-- that produce laptop with it. *sigh*

Wait until Monday when there will hopefully be some news from Computex on NVidia's new "Crush" chipset (I heard it was for mobiles). Also, we may hear whether or not Dell will finally go with AMD products. then we can get the Athlon 4 with the GeForce2 go.!!!

Well I couldnt wait any longer so I picked up the Toshiba Sattellite 2805-S402. I cant wait till I get it on Monday! I'm on travel currently so it'll be arriving at my hotel hehe. I got an excellent price for it cause I have a friend that works for a subsidiary of Toshiba and gets good discounts. 15" screen, Geforce2Go, dvd/cdrw drive, etc. for $1700 If I tire of it I figure I could sell it for $1900 pretty easily and not lose any money over it.
