Now I know why they make shift knobs out of plastic/wood/leather

Put a Hurst shifter knob on my truck 2 days ago, did my morning drive & froze my fvcking hand off.

Duh, who would have thought aluminum was such an effective conductor of heat? It's not like I'm surrounded by Al pans & heat sinks😱

LOL. Got one of them on my stang. During the summer its hot as hell and winter freezing cold!

But you gotta love the shifter though 🙂

Baa, haaaa. (sorry)

I know that feeling when I carry my tripod in the winter. Even the slighest chill in the air and you better wear a glove to hold it.

Wait until summer rolls around. 🙂

I guess that's why driving gloves came into style for a while.

Maybe if I paint it black it'll cook my hand this summer🙁

I epoxy'd it on there too...

When i was in high school i had a 87 Chevy Celebrity (with the automatic shifter on the steering column). So my knob broke off, and i found an old 8 ball and drilled a hole in it and used that. It was awesome.

😀

LOL! Yeh, the titanium shift knob upgrade in the Subaru WRX's weren't a big hit in Arizona, nor were they in cold regions.

It was either blisteringly hot or frigid cold.

Wait until summer when it's 110 in your car. I'd never put one of those in my vehicle. Wrap it in leather or it isn't going in my car.

Burn the $%*# out of my hand one hot summer day moving one of those around. I was shocked and surprised that anyone would buy one of those, especially since they run $100+.

Yeah, the aluminum shift knob in my firends Imprezza is the same way. He bought a nice pair of leather gloves the same day he discovered this.
