Rag on American cops as much as you want but in situations like the bus hostage crisis they rarely fuck up.

Couple of SWAT guys and I were watching it on TV when it was happening. They were simply amazed at the level of stupidity shown during the event. Almost at a loss for words.

Yeah I agree, skill wise they are great. Or maybe I am thinking special forces like during the Somali pirate thing.

Anyway, to the "sane" people claiming that would never happen here, how do you feel about firefighters/emt's posting pictures from on the scene on social networks? I have seen pictures from serious events and even people being rushed into ambulances..

I find it weird and in bad taste.

Holy fuck if you watch the video of this thing on youtube its like 40 monkeys with hammers and guns trying to storm a fortified castle, sad and funny at the same time.

I think the gun owners of ATOT could have done a better job.

depends how many atoters want to die in the d-day style charge into the bus. people are complaining a bit much, its a tin pot 2nd rate poor ass country, so their police are going to suck. they were going up against a dude in a bus with a rifle, no real cover, and the windows all covered with curtains. explosives to take out windows would probably take out hostages, and the windows were plexi or something cuz the sledge only poked a hole in the damned thing. so charging into the 1 or 2 doors the bus did have would just mean the first couple cops would get shot in the face. but hey.. i'm sure thats what any atoter woulda done. gung ho all the way.

You guys all fail to mention that the armed gunman was an ex-cop who got fired for drug related charges. I saw the video. One of the cops missed a smoke grenade about 4 times before getting it in the window.

nah, you'll have your disgruntled miserable bastards who have nothing good to say about America or about cops, but most of us sane people here realize what happened in Manila as posted by the OP wouldn't happen in America.

And then for people, and what looks like law enforcement officials, to use the shot up bus as a photo op? Not here they wouldn't.

HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Are you kidding me? The difference between American hostage rescue and 3rd world hostage rescue is this:
3rd World- They try to rescue the hostages but are incompetent and kill half the hostages.
America (1st World) - They kill the hostages, all of them. On purpose.

OP's pics are pretty sad, but I doubt/hope it reflects their entire force.

Was it just 1 guy? If video games are correct, then killing 1 guy is easy as hell. The tricky missions were when you had to kill 2 or 3 bad guys. If you shoot one of them in the head, the others would execute all of the hostages. If it's just 1 guy.....

What's wrong with that??? That is full of win. How many people could actually do that?

The motorcycle daredevil was actually a cop, on his police department bike!

you don't see anything wrong with using a departmental bike, while on duty, which would leave the city holding the bag if he should screw up?
