Now I have a really good use case for 4K display.

The only serious advice when buying a huge 40" screen for PC usage is to test it in person first. For productivity stuff, you'll often be sitting closer to the screen vs watching movies / playing games from 6-10ft away. At the same time, I know 3 people who bought then returned a 40" screen they originally intended to sit close to because when they received it, they discovered that it was simply uncomfortably big when sitting up close to (it's the height that kills it). They downsized to a 32" 4K or 34" ultrawide and were much more comfortable. Since such ergonomics can be highly variable, you'll really have to figure out how you plan on using it and then try before you buy.

This is exactly me, except I still kept the 40" 4K (went to the wife). I started using it for web development and the 40" was just too much, now that I'm at 32" it's just about perfect.

There is a sweet deal on a 32" right now:

If you want to give it a go.

I was going to pick up a 32" 2560x1440 HP Envy from Costco this week, when I can get it for hopefully $225 before taxes... Now I might go with that 4K Acer for $288 w/out tax.

Both are VA panels, will be using this mostly for work (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), maybe light gaming. I have my Dell IPS for photo editing.
