I see iDealWiz has posted the scanned Office Depot ads for the 6/17 week.

They list a Radeon PCI 32MB , for $129 - $30 MIR - $10 instant rebate (why not just $119?) = $89 plus you get a freemp3 player.

BTW looks like it's a coupon you need to take to the store, so buy this weeks sunday paper, or break out the color printer.

actual scanned coupon

give credit to HawkeyeNJ for orginal scan and to "Rivo - www.iDealWiz for ad hosting.

need4spd found a $30 rebate for the MP3 player -Hot!

OK THIS IS ALOT EASIER

Went to Circuit City. they sell the Radeon PCI for $129 with a $30 rebate. Had them price match Staples $99 dollar (had to walk manager over to staples!).

Result paid $99
wait for $30 rebate
final $69 which is a 30% discount....... good enough.

#3
Staples B&M, $99 use a coupon and they have a $30 rebate too........ (not online that i can see)

note: the box has a nice detailed picture of a Radeon AGP slot card.... that should be illegal -we know it's PCI but it must fool a couple people, till they open it!

Is this the Radeon VE that is offered at CC and BB? If it is, it looks like the price is dropping to $99.99 everywhere. Probably a manufacturer's price drop.

If the crappy mp3 player is worth that much to you though. ;)

Not sure if the $15 off coupon is still around. Note this is a B&M offer only, you may even want to buy it before the sale and pricematch it. I cant imagine they carry that many of them in the stores.

item # 726-311

I am waiting to see if those at IDealWiz want me to host the image of the coupon, or if we can link right to it (ie permission).

EDIT: not the VE, this is the PCI Radeon it's got dual monitor support according to the ad, but not according to ati.com so who knows. the ad says this i'll let you make sense of what card this is: "ATI Radeon 32MB PCI *Drives Dual Monitors *Supports digital lfat panel / analog monitors " And the picture is of a RADEON box (no VE), confused yet?!

Would go well with that Gateway Server you all bought?

I had the SDR Radeon PCI (returned it b/c of an incompatibility with i810). It doesn't have built-in dual monitor support. You will need AGP video to drive the other monitor. It has 1 VGA output and 1 S-Video output. If you need built-in dual monitor support, newegg.com has the Radeon VE (AGP) for $83 shipped.

yeh i think office depot is confused, i know I am.

BTW Circuit City is selling the AGP Radeon VE for $99 and has a $30 rebate, b&m only (online only $20 rebate).

As far as the OfficeDepot deal goes: The item # on their website goes to a Radeon (not VE) so i think the dual monitor support is wrong.

I have received many PMs with questions about this video card. I have posted information about card in this thread OD thread Saves me time by just PMing back

<< FAQs are in thread. Read further posts. >>

I saw the card myself early this morning. The following is what you are going to get. The most important number here is the UPC number ATI UPC 727419-408929 on box @ the B&M OD. Link for UPC codes UPC Codes
this model is the sixth one down the list.
________________________________________________________________

(Dual monitor) ? yes and no. They screw up on that one ! Because there are two connectors on card. Some one did a duhhhhh .... BTW maybe a good fight to get a Wonder out of them for this goof. BTW they have since changed the website because it did have the picture of the All-In-One Wonder early this morning. Up and to the right of the sku stated in flyer. It is now blank. So they got the HEADS UP already.

I stopped by OD today at lunch and the box for this card says nothing about dual monitor support. I think OD just made a mistake in the ad. Too bad the Radeon VE is only AGP, I really need a PCI card with dual monitor support. I'm currently using 2 PCI cards and want to free up an extra slot.

jlinhart, i am a little confused about your post. are you saying that the card at office depot is in fact an AGP version? might be a good deal if those 15off50 coupons are still floating around. for anyone wondering about the mp3, it comes stock with 16mb and takes mmc cards. nicest thing about it is usb.

beatniks3,

The card that is on sale at OD this weekend is the 32MB SDR Radeon and it's definately PCI, but it's not dual head. Earlier in this thread they were talking about other deals on the Dual Head AGP Radeon VE card that has a $30 rebate if you buy from the B&M Circuit City. Sorry for the confusion.

need4spd found a $30 rebate for the MP3 player -Hot!
rebate

getting better and better!

fine print: npt valid if rebate amount exceeds purchase price

the only way to do this would be to go buy both right now (before sale) and then price protect on sunday, if you do that then you have a copy of a receipt with a $49 MP3 player.

Several questions/observations. Any answers/comments would be appreciated.

How are the Windows 2000 drivers for the Radeon? I read that when it came out, the drivers were bad; have they improved?

Do any OD coupons exist and can you use them in the store?
EDIT: The coupon expires Friday June 15th. Any ideas on how to make use of this?

Am I right that MMC isn't smartmedia or compactflash? Maybe we can get lucky and find some of this MMC junk on clearance. :D
Are there any utilities that quickly convert mp3s from one bitrate to another?

Note: The $30 mp3 player rebate says "Submitted coupons must be post-marked with in 15 days of purchase date"

The mp3 player is "free... with purchase after rebates." What does this mean? Is it an instant rebate? If not, how could you submit both rebates (one UPC)?

What does "price protect" on sunday mean? Will they do this for you (since it is more than a price match/adjustment"? Has anyone purchased these already or asked?

The JamP3 site says that it is compatible with Windows 98 and ME. Anyone have experience with Windows 2000 or seen the system requirements on the box?

win 2K drivers are not up to NVIDIA standards no.

dont think the coupons work in-store.

no clue on mmc.

mail it out right away then?!

nice catch on the free after rebates thing.... not sure how that will pan out, maybe they take the $30 rebate into consideration in the sale.

price protect meaning, buy it for $129 today, take receipt in sunday (when sale starts) to get the rebate form and price cut etc. (it will be sold out sunday)

no info on MP3 player and 2k, but dont see why not, think its usb.

<< The coupon expires Friday June 15th. Any ideas on how to make use of this? >>

Easy buy it all NOW and go back on Sunday or Monday for a price refund and reduction! That is the one of the reasons I post the ads early.

<< Does anyone have this JaMP3? Is it any good? >>

FREE is always good. Plus I like the fact you can hand it to the kids rather than your RIO or Volt !

It's better than free since it'll get you an additional $30 with the rebate.

<< to clarify, the ad is wrong, and as we suspected the card does not do dual monitors - only the all in wonder would do that >>

Not quite the AIW...the Radeon VE does that...

Is this a good mid-level choice for the GW6400? I might be doing some video editing. But I'm not up to speed on video cards. Is this a good choice/deal or should I hold out. I don't even know when the 6400s will be shipped.

can anyone confirm that the rebate would be good if you bought the mp3 player at office depot? combine the rebate with the 15off$50 coupon and you would basically be getting the mp3 free (would have to pay taxes.) i looked into this mp3 player when OD was giving it away free with 128mb or 256mb sticks about a month ago. mmc is more expensive...a search for mmc in the hot deal forum reveals...64MB MMC for $69.99. the player itself is low-end. but like someone else mentioned, it is nearly free (or free if you need the graphics card). i have a Agfa cl18 digital camera that i got for $17.99 after rebate from clearance deal at OD and i take it everywhere...no need to worry about it. there are many programs that can change the bit rite of an mp3...cdex does it for free as well encoding using lame...i think that there is even a plug-in for winamp that will do it. if someone could confirm that OD is a 'participating retailer?' that would be sweet...could stop by tonight before the coupon expires. thanks.
