I just got my 9500. It has the 3.3 ns infineon ram on it I believe. I dont think I will do the soldering until Tuesday when I can bring it into work under an adjustable soldering iron and a biiig magnifying glass. My comp scores 10150 without the mod so im eager to find out my full potential =D

The 3rd one I mod last night had very good HSF and GPU contact, only a little AC3 was needed. So in my case it wasn't the heat issue. I can run them at 9700PRO core/memory speed without issues.

I just got my 9500 128MB.. $157 or so.. has the Infineon chips on it. :) Will test for OCing, etc soon. What's a good way to make sure there are no traces of my Nvidia drivers? I don't want to do a fresh install of Windows.

Not gonna do the hardware mod, but will wait for the software..

Done and done. Installed my card, updated the BIOS to the 9500 that allows for overclocking. I have it up to 295/295 stable.. Now to wait for the Riva Tuner thing.. It's pretty much on par with my older Ti4200 so it's all good for now. :)

It's worked so far by means of the fill rate. Will be running a complete 3dmark thing soon, then checking for artifacts.

Hrm.. I get a weird artifact in each 3dmark test, a checkerboard pattern that appears to be just a strile about 1/5 in from each way all the way down. Also, my 3dmark score only went up around 900 points as well..

I did the software hack, worked like a charm...3dMark went from 10186 to 11821. I get checkerboard artifacts on Max's sunglasses in the Lobby benchmarks...all other benchmarks/games tested show no artifacts, including the ATI DX9 demos. Weird that the Lobby sunglasses are the only thing corrupted.

I seem to recall the 9500 being a **LOT ** slower than a 9500 Pro.

These marginal increases (less than 10%) are nice, but NOT 9500 Pro scores..... :frown:

Have you tried hardware mod and it worked well or just software mod?

If you haven't then don't bother, you got a R300 core with some broken pipelines.

There's only be about 10~15% increase in overall 3dMark score, and check your fill rate result. You should see greater difference there though.

k, i uninstalled all previous drivers and reinstalled the catalyst 7192c drivers and control panel from ati. after that i installed rivatuner and ran the patch and nothing changed. fill rate remained the same. what seems to be the problem? under the main tab on rivatuner under driver settings it says no supported driver detected for this display adapter?

I haven't touched the hardware on my card... was planning to but since the software mod came out so much earlier i decided to do that instead.

If the mod succeeds, you should be getting faster than 9500 pro speeds. Your card will have the same clock rate of a 9500 pro but it will also have a 256bit bus vs. the 128bit bus on the 9500 pro.

Is anyone comparing their scores to that of a real 9500 pro? I'd have figured more than ~10% difference.
