You may be right about that since from what I see on TV, most Iraqi's seem more moderate than many other countries over there like Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Bahrain, etc.

France, Germany, and Russa plan meeting to discuss their role in the New Iraq". They claim that only the UN can legitimize the new government.
just take a look in Bagdad, can you see any Ford, Chevy o any american influence, No, you will find a lot of Peugeot, Renault, Citroen, VW all coming from Europe, Iraq has been trading with European countries since I was born. Some people should get a little more info before making a comment.

"Now French want to legitimize overthrow of Saddam"

Should we note for historical sake that the French hereby second 22,000,000 Iraqi's?

So it really is all about making money in the end? :|

Thanks for the clarification...couldn't see past Bush's smoke and mirrors until a fellow conservative cleared that up for me. Ironic how conservatives deny the war is about money and then furrow their brows at those money-grubbing bastards in France, Germany and Russia. How dare they try to profit from our liberation movement!

I don't like abortion, I don't like 'Hollywood' values, and I definately think we need to enforce some sort of moral (if not religious) values in our public schools, but I'd HATE to identify as a conservative. This pompous, self-righteous attitude some of the neo-conservatives have sickens me, and I hate that we're now using this in our foreign policy. Everytime I hear Bush speak about 'WMD' and 'terrorism' and 'Sah-dum' I feel like I'm being strung along in some hype circus and I feel dumber for having listened to him. The very least he could do is maintain a consistent message about what the hell we plan to do in Iraq and what our goal is for post-war Iraq when we're done.

You seriously believe we are there to make money?
Are you on crack?
Yes, some American and British companies are going to make money when they are given the rebuilding contracts. But it will be the American and British governments that are paying the costs.
Maybe some oil money will be used to pay the companies that rebuild the oil facilities, but we are spending at least 85 billion on this war.

I don't see how this could possibly be a money making venture.

The point wasn't that we wanted to make money on the war. The point was that it was American and British soldiers who gave their blood.
Not the French.
Not the Germans.
Not the Russians.
So if any companies are going to make any money in the rebuilding, it sure as hell shouldn't be the French.

You hear, they've been asking who's going to pay them back the money Saddam owed them. LMFAO.

The only part of this that was about the money was the motives for France, Germany, and Russia refusing to support us.

France had huge oil contracts with Saddam.
Germany built his multi-million dollar bunkers.
Russia sold him night-vision goggles, GPS jammers, and other military equipment.

Actually I don't see Bush as a Neo Conservative unlike Wolfowitz and the rest of those Neo Neanderthal Dregs in the State Department. That doesn't mean that some of their ideas aren't on the mark, you just have to differentiate their sound ideas from their lunancy and ignore their lunacy.

Just for clarification, Wolfowitz is in the Defense Department. For an interesting perspective on his past with the military, read Women in the Military: Flirting with Disaster by a former Army officer (book's at home, can't recall the name). That's where I remember first hearing about him. The book topic is for another thread.

Hmm...French and German automotive companies...hmmm...and who was objecting to the removal of Saddam? Money talks...and loudly.

Actually, there are lots of American cars in Baghdad.
Not sure what the point was though.
