If these are examples of regulations and big government that he wants to go after then I'm all for it!!

Seven of the more than 50 paperwork requirements the White House eliminated on Thursday dealt with the Y2K bug, according to a memo OMB released. Officials at the agency estimate the changes could save tens of thousands of man-hours across the federal government.

The agency didn’t provide an estimate of how much time is currently spent on Y2K paperwork, but Linda Springer, an OMB senior adviser, acknowledged that it isn’t a lot since those requirements are already often ignored in practice.

*let's stay on topic so I don't have to change my thread title because people started posting good regulations he wants to eliminate.

Y2038 already f'ed up one of my perl scripts. Creating a calendar script ain't easy when you have to scrub out every possible scenario that would lead to a date past 2038. "I think I'll add Christmas to the calendar and have it repeat annually for fifty years. 500 Internal Server Error.

You should probably list all those good regulations so everybody knows that they're off limits.

Presumably integer rollover for dates stored in unix time format of signed 32 bit integer seconds past the epoch.

OK I'll read the link because...wut.

so if this is an issue with binary whatsits determining how integers or something does a thing with time....could this little problem vanish if quantum computing becomes the standard within 20 years?

Or something as simple as moving to larger bit sizes. It's just a matter of actually sprucing up old programs which is actually awful in practice.

In the highly unlikely event Donald Trump ever does something good, it will be to benefit himself, and the country will just be a side-effect.
