The Civic Type-R and the Civic Si aren't rice either...when a four-banger can out-run a V-8...namely the Mustang (not the GT)...in a stock vs stock run, I'd say that's a decent car.

I'm no avid Ford supporter, but a non-GT? Puh-lease. Those were built just to boost sales and are driven by 16yo girls. Also I believe they're 6-cyl.

BTW, I believe the Dodge Neon R/T was in fact a VTEC. :) That doesn't change the fact it is still a Neon though. :p

They make V-8 Mustangs, or so I'm told, that aren't GTs...my god a Civic Si leaves a V-6 Mustang behind by about 6 or 7 car lengths, I just beat this mustang by about 1 car length. And VTEC is Honda specific, so I don't thing Dodge would have it.

There's nothing rice about a skyline GTR R34. and any idiot that would try to "rice it out should be shot dead.(and their car given to me)
this however is rice for a Supra

Yes there are. The 2003 model makes 390 HP and is supercharged from the factory.

There are three trim levels of the Mustang:

Base model: 193hp V6
GT: 260hp V8
Cobra: 390hp Supercharged V8

You don't know a damn thing about Mustangs do you? Along with what notfred said, you're also forgetting last year's Bullit and this year's Mach 1.

Where'd you get this information from? The old SN95 V6's, yes - they only have 150hp. The newer ones have 190 and I've seen them at the track and on the street ripping Civic SIs a new one. Instead of being a benchmark racer try getting out and watching an actual race between the two.

I am talking from actual experience, as my Civic Si has raped V6 Mustangs on and off the track, even before I dropped in my turbo. I'm far from a benchmark racer, because I don't give a $hit about hp or torque, if you can't drive your car, then hp doesn't matter. I've seen plenty of Civic Si's lose to Mustangs and vice-versa. It depends on the driver, and I'll tell you, I can "tear the Mustangs a new one." Of course now that I'm boosting 10 PSI and can tear Cobras a new one too, and I've done it, not going on benchmarks.

Haha those little cars are actually kinda cool. Wouldn't mind owning one myself.

As for the defintion of rice: it basically equates to all show and no go. I prefer the sleeper variety myself, but if you want to proclaim your speed with stickers and spoilers galore, then be my guest. Just don't add a Type-R insignia and then act like you can outrun every corvette on the block.

If you want to fix your car up, fine. If you want to spray-paint the hubcaps to match your body color, fine. If you want to add a 5' spoiler on your Metro, fine. Do whatever you want with your car, just don't impose on my driving space and you'll be fine.

Then again, it helps the pride out a bit having a crotch rocket that can do 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Yes, it's cheating comparing a bike to a car...but darn it, whoever said I had to play by the rules :)

What's the name of that company that make those big, die-cast BMW/Porsche/Mercedes (and others) models? I was at the store a couple of years ago wandering through the toy department and I saw a metallic green (maybe purple) 60s Impala. It was a Lowrider Magazine edition car complete with the wire-spoked rims, pinstriping and all. It was so fugly that I was laughing for half an hour and tears were coming out of my eyes! I wish I had bought it. I still laugh sometimes when I think about it! :D

dtyn - my bad. I meant what you said - depends on the driver. With equal drivers a Mustang V6 should have at least a car length or two on the SI, but with a $hitty driver it could be the other way around.

Well this is where you bring benchmarks in. With equal drivers, I'm not sure that quite correct. The Si is a much lighter car with about 27 hp less than the V6. Now if you mean the EX/HX/LX/DX then I understand, but the Si rivals the V6 in power:weight. If we want equal drivers then you have to look at factory ratings, cuz that's about as close as you're gonna get. If both cars are manuals then the Si is rated at about a .4 faster 0-60 and a .2 faster 1/4 mile. They don't make an auto tranny Si, so can't compare those ratings. I don't like using ratings, but that's as close as you can get to "equal drivers."

What do SI's run in the 1/4? MM&FF in one of the first 99 V6's from the production line a couple of 15.0x somethings and eventually broke 14's (only a 14.98 or something along those lines) I've seen a few break into the 14's at Ennis (with a few mods though)

I believe the factory test had them running a 15.3, though the first time I took mine to the track (without mods) I ran a 15.01 (I was soft on my launch) and my friend ran my car at 14.89. Of course now the quarter-mile times aren't even fair to compare ;)

Ah, the electric blue is such a pretty color...mines just plain old black. Yea, the Si's (stock) don't feel fast at all, until you hit VTEC (5500 RPMS) and if you pop in a cold air intake, that engine is louder than a V-8 (not better sounding, just louder) above VTEC.

Too bad those civics look like crap.

Honestly, fast or not you would not catch me dead in one of those things, would take my SVT Tour over it anyday as at least that has some character.

If you want to look good in a car, or have something nice...do yourself a favor and put those $$ your going to use to rice out your ride and buy a real car like a BMW or mercedes, heck even a nice american muscle convertable or a used porsche would be a better buy than a fast civic. I would even take a New Miata or WRX over a Honda as at least they look nice.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, you have yours and appear to be loud and obnoxious about spreading it. IMHO the Tour looks like crap and so does the WRX (even though its fast). I also think that Mercedes and Bimmers are a waste of money. I think my car looks very nice and has plenty of "character." Some people like to build/work on their own car instead of going out and buying a "real car." Of course, that's just my opinion, I'm not going to say I wouldn't be caught dead in a Bimmer or the like, but I do not find them to be attractive cars.
