You just cost me 419 plus tax. Boy what a good deal and this thing is a great camera, I guess I need to sell my A70 now. Got it today for 419 at CC in Fort Worth. Thanks
 
Canon has announced the EOS Digital Rebel (US name) / EOS-300D (Rest of world) / Kiss Digital (Japan name). This six megapixel digital SLR is essentially a feature reduced EOS-10D in the EOS-300's silver body (plastic). It will have a body only priced of $900 in the US. This camera will be available as a "body only kit" or a "with lens kit", the latter will include a new 18 - 55 mm EF-S lens which has been "optimized" for the size of the D-SLR sensor.

No offense to anyone especially luuvong99 but I'd rather have a G3 than a digital Rebel. Most importantly the Canon G series is the only prosumer digital camera I'd buy. I currently have a EOS-10D and won't go any lower.

~$990 vs. ~$450 is a huge price difference to most of us here especially for the features/picture quality/control offered already on the G3.

Wow mad Rochester people...no wonder the deals are often gone so quickly. I went to bestbuy one time to get that Sony Clie Wifi card deal and they were basically cleaned out except for the open box one. I got the guy to say $60 on the phone, and then in the store he dropped the price to $50 for no reason(eh why complain), then forgot he lowered it to $50, wrote $60, I pointed out that he said $50, and he was like, oh yeah, then he dropped it to $50. So I got the Wifi card FAR 😉 since there was the $50 rebate. He even knew about the rebate and gave me the rebate forms and all with a smile. LOL

But some punk had bought like the last 3 non-open boxed ones...grrr...

Thanks for the heads up. I went to the store in Baton Rouge and it was $599.99. I told them that it was 429.99 at other stores, and the guy looked confused. I left and immediately called the store in Kenner about 50 miles away, and sure enough $419.99. I called the baton rouge store back and told them, and the guy said that it is $599 at every circuit city store. 100 miles round trip later, I am only $419.99 + tax poorer. If the Baton rouge store was on my way home I would have taken the receipt by there just to see the confused look one more time. I'll drive a 45 min one way any day to save $180. This was perfect timing for a Las Vegas trip in just over a week, and not to mention anniversery present for the wife!! (it is actually what she has been asking for for quite some time) I had just started shopping around for cameras, and of course I always check out this forum to see what's out there. Thanks again.

list price of Canon G3 is $699 and 300D has list price of $999. the street price of Rebel 300D expect to be in $600-$700 to direct compete with others 5mpix or 6mpix camera like Nikon 5700, Sony 717...

it expects to be available by end of Sep-2003. the price of G3 will drop under $400 for sure.
 
I just tried to get another one (for myself this time) at the City of Industry, CA store, and the manager there wouldn't pricematch it for me. I even showed my receipt from the West Covina store that I got yesterday, and she said no 🙁

You better be right since I have been waiting to buy this camera for the longest time 🙂.
 
I bought two at $420 each + tax. Was gonna give one to my parents, but it's too much camera for them. I'll sell it for my cost + actual shipping +$10. If interested, PM me, otherwise I'll just return it.

Tried that the other day. Montebello was out at $419.99 so I had one held at Industry. Said the price was a error in the computer system. Grr, went to Montebello and bought it there but with pick up at City of Industry. $419.99 with $42 GC (had one of those 10% back coupon thingys). Total $451.17 (after 8.25% CA tax) plus $42 back in GC. Now looking at my S45 and wishing the G3 was just a little bit smaller, *sigh*.
 
Picked up one last night at the store in South Charlotte (Pineville, NC). The sale price was $419.99 and they had two left after I got my one.
 
This is prety hot ~ Been looking at G3 for a long time.

I just searched the local stores using the on-line search. The CC closest to me shows 2 in stock. So I just bought one on-line (with in-store pickup).

It says if the in-store price is cheaper then I will get price adjustment. (if it is not... then I just cancle order).

Store opens in a couple hours... hope they have them at the $419 price.

I live in whitehall PA. Is there any CC stores selling at lower price. NY, NJ, PA circuitcity stores. If anybody has tried any of the stores. please lemme know. i am looking for the model long time.
 
Went to my local CC and as usual, was blown off. The clerk acted magnanimous when he told me it was $599 with a $20 INSTANT REBATE!!! Couldn't understand why I was unimpressed.
 
Can someone host a pic of a receipt or PM me with one? I have visited my local CC and they won't go any lower than $547 without proof. Want to get one for the wife who has taken an interest in my G1.
 
Duh I should have read that better, so you did get it at the store. Which Raleigh store did you get it at? I can have them call over there and PM it that way as well.

i got the same B.S. eventhough i have a receipt the CC in the same city that is selling it for $419.99 on 8/24/03. i went to CC today, with the $419.99 receipt in hand, try to get it for $419.99, they won't budge, telling me that since it was on sale last week for $419.99. that is B.S. since i called last week, the CC ASSiociate give me a price of $599.99.

is any CC in the nation still sale the G3 for $419.99?
