My price of $398.95 is listed as $434.95 on the website, but my credit card lists the price as $398.95. So I called them just to check, the lady that I spoke with says that she has the price listed in her computer as $398.95. So, I would say not to worry about the price listed on the website, it isn't accurate anyway, because of the lack of shipping and taxes that are not included.

12:45 Eric> So it would arrive to you probably within 10 days

Asked if the 10% off coupon applied:

12:48 Eric> No not on this video card because it is already discounted

Does the AAA discount ?

12:48 Eric> Nope, no other discounts on this card

LOL, guess you have to talk to the right person.

Why are you talking with CSR? Just order it online and apply the code(s) like everyone else did.

Seriously. Some of you morons simply like to make things harder on yourselves and then turn around and cry like spoiled children when you don't get your way, as dishonest as it may be.

LOL, I didn't order it that way ... I wanted to see when they expect to be shipping, and if they would apply the AAA and the 10% off...

Duhr...

Lowenbotten sure is annoying. Some people who find this hot will order it, those who don't won't. Why are you trying to convince people not to order it if they find it hot?

Gateway would have to have had some in stock at some point to get more in stock. I ordered on June 3rd and I'm still waiting for mine. At least they say "out of stock" now though.

Damn, I placed an order for it today. It says that expected ship date is July 30. Man....that's too long. I might have to just cancel it later.

Everyone kept saying that there was no X800 XT, only Platinum Edition! What the h3ll is going on? Furthermore, the standard X800 XT PE price at Gateway is $434.95. The standard X800 Pro price is $444.95. This is whack!

I sent an email to a Gateway CSR and got a reply stating that my Est. Arrival date of 7.8.04 -should- be right. They are -supposedly- expecting a shipment. If so, 6 days is fvcking awesome. Otherwise, lame-o Gateway duped us again.

Also, that whole 6800 GT thing is amazing. I am hoping that Cat 4.7 will speed up the X800 cards. Also, I am looking forward to final releases of future games. I don't really need a fast video card, or at least this fast, since my Samsung 172x runs at the max res. 1280 x 1040 -- but I will run it with all max visuals. Also, I have a 21" Mitsubishi that supports crazy resolutions. Anywho, hope it comes soon.

Ok, for the 7 billionth time people (I'm sorry if this comes off as me being angry, I'm not really) the deal with the XTs is:

The AGP version of the card is only XT Platinum Edition

For PCI-Express there is a regular XT and a PE XT.

So, if its AGP it is an XT PE only.

Thank you for your Gateway.com order and welcome to the Gateway family! When you order from Gateway, not only do you get a superior product, you get full service customer service and support from people who care. Congratulations! Your order includes 10% off.
399 + 7 shipping.

I'll see what I think of this in the morning. Right now seems ok

ericlp, I am 17 years old, and with my money, I bought a high-end pc, a Corsair water cooling system, a Samsung 172x LCD, this video card, and Klipsch 2.1 speakers.

There is a thing called -saving-. I don't get an allowance. Ever. I have never had a real job. I work on and off at an Actuarial firm. At my birthdays, Christmas, graduation, I asked for Fry's or CrapUSSR gift cards.

Kids can save money too you know. Don't be so sterotypical in your daily dealings. You never had to comment.

aznman - I can completely understand your unwillingness to plop down $450 of hard earned cash. For people our age, that isn't a quarter of a paycheck. It could be money saved from 2 months! Props to you though. Stand up for your age =)

How much better for gaming is this card as compared to the 9800 Pro All In Wonder?

Props to you for being so motivated. At any age, that's rare, yours especially. But that said, I think most will agree, that as your age increases so do your responsibilities, and in turn, so do your expenses. Presumably you live at home and have your basic needs taken care of. Believe it or not, you sometimes have less disposable income as you get older :)

nikko, thanks for the compliment.

Once "out in he real world", spending on a whim can ruin credit, ruin relationships (wives anyone?), ... the list is ungodly long. This Fall will be the first time I am away-away from home, going to an Honors Engineering program at UTexas in Austin. The money I make working at various engineering jobs is going straight to my Vanguard bond fund for future use - apartment, house, car ... retirement.

I had a financial re-awakening a few years ago. My interest rate with Vanguard is 2-3% above inflation. Try to find a savings account that can do that for you. Luckily, I invested shortly after 9/11 so I bought low-low and got awesome yields. Do it people! For many browsers here, children are a reality (or soon to be). Start them saving early. Not a piggy bank for ice cream, but a long-term savings. I started at a bank, and once I had enough to open an account with Vanguard, I did.

This thread is about a video card, so ... I ordered my X800 XT PE from GW weeks ago, and if my est. arrival date is correct, it will be here Wednesday, July 8th. Woot.

I'm getting excited. Today is Sunday, the card (supposedly) comes Wednesday!

I'll most definately post the outcome, be it another delay, mysteriously passed arrival date, or a tracking number!
