I guess I can console myself with the $719 I paid for a 2001fp today :D

Of course, I now need a card that will allow 1600x1200 gaming - my GF3 Ti200 ain't gonna cut it anymore. Sounds like the 6800 GT is my minimum need?

Yeah, I got that a ew months ago during a $749 deal. Awesome LCD for gaming. My 9700 Pro pushed UT2004 well on 1600x1200, but my 6800GT is going to blow it out of the Agua.

I pre-ordered Doom3 a few weeks ago, cant wait to how it looks.

Wierd my Estimated Shipping Dates on my order got pushed back from July 28-29 to Aug 5-8 after I ordered and checked back on my order status. What are everyone elses ESD's?

I jumped on this after losing out on the provantage preorder thing. I went with 2-day shipping, and amazon is showing the 28th for arival date.

My order is showing an estimated delivery date of "Sept 27, 2004 - Sept 29, 2004".

Oof at least with the sept 27-29 date your order should be cancellable if something better shows up, no?

I chose one day shipping so that it would be more difficult for Amazon to cancel or change. My arrival date is 7/27 and the order is being prepared for shipment and cannot be canceled per my order status. My CC has been charged as well.

lol, I already ordered over $250 at Amazon so I don't qualify for the deal again. Very good deal though.

I hate certificates. Cheesy way for retailers to increase profit margins by enticing sales yet less costly than cash rebates. Chances are you will spend more money using the certificate than not.

If you just use it for $49.99 than Amazon at most is liable of less than half of that in merchandise cost.

Hell a $25 instant rebate would be better off of your intitial purchase. Pull my finger and I'll bend over and accept a $25 MIR

what are you talking about ?!?! I sepnd at least 100$ a month at amazon/marketplace
so their gift certificates are like cash for me, much better than rebates since you don't
have to mail them in and they are 100% reliable.

I have to agree I think this was a very nice deal. Not as good as cash, but still.... Wish I had gotten in on it.

if i was able to get in i'd be more than happy. i basically am waiting for a deal where I am able to get Doom 3 and my 6800GT for less than $400. Right now I am part of the Buy.com pre-order but who knows how long it'll take for me to get that delivered. a $50 GC to amazon would have easily bought Doom 3 .... those of you who got in on this were lucky. Good luck on fast shipments!

Just an update: My order shipped today! So far, I have gotten no notification about the 50 dollar gift certificate. Should I contact someone and ask about this? I know it mentioned that we wouldnt get them until september sometime, however, should we not at least been notified that we SHOULD be getting one?

My order originally said it would ship on July 29th (or was it the 28th?). I got in on this deal pretty early, thankfully. I think I was one of the first to view it when he posted it. :( Hopefully they bump up your order a bunch and you get it soon.

Considering I placed my order on 7/23 and opted for free ground shipping, it's pretty amazing that i'll be likely to get it tomorrow - err.. today (7/27). I checked the tracking status and my GT is sitting at the nearest UPS hub by my house!

Big kudos to Amazon. Now I'm just hoping that I'll get that $50-certificate soon just like this super-fast delivery.

PS. Oh and BTW, I don't think this deal is dead yet. They have that $50 gift certificate offer through 8/1 (or 8/3?), and since the price of GTs is listed as same ($378.99), if Amazon get them in stock between now and then, you'll grab the same deal. (Although the chance looks slim.)

Wait a minute - is it available for any purchase >250 (that is, more than one time ) ?

You can ask to drive to the hub to pick it up yourself and save the delivary guy some time. Mine also shipped last night or today.
