It's Christopher Nolan, many people orgasm over anything he touches.

Count me among the Nolan fans, even though The Dark Knight Rises was somewhat disappointing. I'm definitely willing to see it based on his name alone. Inception was one of the best movies I'd seen in years.

Inner Demons - 7.9/10

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3038142/

A surprisingly entertaining horror flick. It is set up as a fictional version of the TV show Intervention. A teenage girl has been abusing heroin to suppress the demon that has possessed her.

A sprinkling of dark humor really raised the movie from 'meh' to 'pretty good' for me. The ending is pretty dark... you'll either love it or hate it. The acting is above average for a low budget horror movie.

Gone Girl 9/10

A very fun movie if you are in the mindset to think about everything going on.

I agree on the above.

I want to see Annabelle myself, I liked The Conjuring more than I thought would.

Cabin Fever 3 Patient Zero 3/10
Not sure if I ever saw the second and wasn't sure if this was a prequel or a sequel while watching it, prequel. The movie is a mess.

In the same way pondering the mysteries of the human condition is fun.
OK, I should have assumed as much. Wonder if Fincher will do another project like Fight Club, kind of darkly fun, could be interesting. Love when accomplished drama directors do black comedy, though it's pretty rare.

Back to the Future - 8/10
Usually don't like older movies, but we pleasantly surprised with this.

The Usual Suspects - 8/10
More old goodness

22 Jump Street - 5/10
What is it with Hollywood and their stupid humor?
I cannot believe this was so well reviewed and rated. I'm so tired of this kind of crap. Over the top everything to the point where i became quite annoyed half-way thru the movie.

Watchmen - 9/10
This is the best overall comic movie ever. I love it so much, every time i re-watch it.
So dark and brilliant.

I watched the opening 2 min of edge of tomorrow about 10 times yesterday

there is an insane bass sweep at the start of the movie, if you have subs capable of playing it its 10/10, however be carful as it was recorded really hot. 10Hz @ 125 db which is louder then basically everything else, Hulk, TF4, HTTYD and so on

you can hear my house rattling

The Signal - 7.5/10

Sci-fi film starring Laurence Fishburne and a bunch of nonames.

First check out the trailer, it's probably one of the best trailers I've ever seen and convinced me to immediately rent it:

The movie received mixed reviews, and I generally hate everything, but I was pleasantly surprised by the movie itself.

blended - 8/10 - just a fun movie that i enjoyed a lot more than i expected. watched it with 4 other people and we all liked it a lot. expected another "50 first dates" but was pleasantly surprised. gave it an extra point because i really liked the scenery in africa in the movie (regardless of it being real or not).

transformers 4 - 7/10 - i am a fan of all the transformers movie, and this was pretty much more of the same. i thought it started out kinda slow/blah but it picked up. i thought the dynamic between wahlberg and his daughter was really dumb too. the whole protective father was just dumb. i also think wahlberg was totally miscast i this movie. as a smart nerdy guy he just isn't believable. i'm a fan of him in general but thought in this movie he just didnt fit. also, the bass in this movie was way too high. after the very opening scene, i had to turn down the gain on my amp because i didn't want my house to collapse on me while i was watching in my basement.

Watched Transformers: Age of Extinction last night. Wish I didn't. How stupid are people that they flock to watch this movie? How stupid am I that I paid Redbox $1.60 to watch this movie after watching the three past crap-fests? Did Michael Bay sleep with every talent-less babe cast in these movies? What does it say about the human species that someone like Michael Bay ranks among the highest in terms of sexual success?

I have trouble sleeping now.

Watched the trailer. It looks interesting even though I have no idea what it is about. Really that good? Actually, the trailer was funny saying that it was as imaginative as District 9. Didn't know that District 9 was the first movie about genocide. Once you cut through the Hollywood cutter cookie crap, it was just a movie about genocide.

I fall asleep on a few tries and have given up.

Watched The Signal last night. It was an interesting movie. I think it is safe to tell people that it is part of the alien sub-genre of sci-fi. It's hard to give this movie a rating. I thought the first half was incredible and kept me hooked. Seriously a 10/10 for the first half. But that's where things go down hill. The movie seemed to loose it's sense of purpose in the second half and it dragged out a bit. About 3/4 of the way through I was just watching to see the conclusion. The movie was so close to being epic but failed. It has an interesting concept. I think anyone interested in sci fi and specifically the alien sub-genre should see this.

Sorry for being cryptic. I tend to tell people what genre and sub genre are and say whether or not it is worth seeing. I tend to view any details as too much info. If anyone wants details without ruining the movie you can always read the first 10-20% of the plot summary at Wikipedia.

If you want more details on sub-genre
it is about alien abduction
and in that regard, it is probably one of the best in this category. Interesting. Didn't think about it that way till now but in terms of the sub-sub-genre it is actually one of the best.
