Yeah I'm not a Foxx fan at all, but he was very good here. Tarantino seems to be able to bring out the best in all of his actors.

KT

After Collateral if there is a movie Jamie Foxx is in that is bad then I chalk it up to being someone else's fault.

I still want to see it, I just hope they did not overedit it.

I'm not as fired up as I was when I saw the Drive trailer, but for a tiny little clip I'm REALLY excited.

I was happy in my pants just from the poster! :D

Was not a huge fan of Collateral.

Even so, Jamie Foxx pulled off his role perfectly.

Jamie's only out-right bad film I know of since Jarhead is Stealth and that's only because he took that role before he became known as a good actor and could demand better. Indeed, it was filmed before Ray but released after.

Edit: Was he in Miami Vice? Never saw it. I heard it was bad though. May have been before Stealth/Jarhead/Ray too.

Life of Pi - 8/10

I really liked this movie. The ending was kinda jacked up and stole from the overall feel of the movie but the visuals were amazing, the story was entertaining, and it hit on a few emotions which is rare these days. After seeing the Hobbit in 3D HFR this 3D was good but I really hope I never have to watch another "old style" 3D movie again. You really notice the difference.

Django Unchained 7.5/10

Just watched it.

Inglourious Basterds >>>>>>>>>>>> Pulp Fiction > Kill Bill 1 & 2 > Reservoir Dogs > other works.

Bit overhyped by ATOT. Nothing can compare to the intense opening scene of Christoph in IB. He truly played a fearsome role, switching between French and English.

Also don't forget the amazing undercover scene at the basement tavern. IB is a perfect work of beauty.

I enjoyed Django because I just love Quentin's work. But it wasn't anything special particularly. Quentin is known for awesome dialogue and banter (Pulp, Kill Bills, & IB). This movie lacked it. The plot was little bit too long and bit disjointed.

That KKK scene was neither necessary or funny. It was actually cringe inducing.

Why didn't they just offer to buy Django's wife straight up? The movie's excuse wasn't convincing at all (unless I misunderstood it- only way to get Candie's attention?)

Walk in there, and offer to pay like 2-3K. That's far more than the 500 dollar Candie valued her for.

Have you seen Zombieland? She's good and hot in that. Fun movie too.

KT

Amber Heard will be hot in Machete Kills as well, http://www.firstshowing.net/2012/first-look-at-amber-heard-seducing-danny-trejo-in-machete-kills/

I love lipstick lesbians.

She was in John Carpentar's The Ward, which i am not sure if others will like but despite being in a genre that is overdone i enjoyed the new twist on it. If I say what movies are similar you will know the twist. It is listed as a horror movie.

Branded - um?/10 - I don't know wtf I just watched. It wasn't bad....but I really can't say it was good. I think you LSD types would really enjoy this movie...then again, I am certain parts would give you bad trips. It is just...weird. It tries to be this...cohesive serious movie, then goes all trippy weird, then sci-fi, then..normal again. It's just strange. May require multiple viewings to completely understand whats going on.

There is a major underlying message in the movie (that is pretty much what the title is about) that is very clear throughout, but the way they go about discussing it is just crazy and the parts that are supposed to explain why things are happening the way they are make absolutely no sense in their explanation.

Django - 9.175 / 10

Offensive, bloody, hilarious. I've never been much of a Jamie Foxx fan but he is fantastic in the titular role. Great chemistry with the German actor (forgetting his name). If you like Tarantino, you're in for a treat.

Of all his movies, I like Pulp Fiction the most but Django is a very, very close second.

The only thing I disliked about this movie was the music. I thought it was much more interfering than mood setting like in Kill Bill. I thought a lot of times it took away from the scene instead of added to it.

Liberal Arts- 6/10 - it wasnt bad, but it wasnt great either.i spent most of the movie trying to figure out why Elizabeth Olsen looked familiar, then i realized she was the Olsen's twins sister.

Moonrise Kingdom -8/10 it was odd, weird, quirky, and not at all what I expected but I liked it. Edward Norton was great.

Gangster Squad - 7.75/10

Caught an advance screening, solid gangster/action flick. Great performances by Penn/Brolin IMHO.

final battle scene felt like matrix with less CGI. At times I wondered if they were using the same set haha

Avengers - 9/10

I watched it last night, went with in good expectation but it was better than I thought it would be. It was just a flat out entertaining action movie. Yeah the plot is nothing special but I really wanted to see how they incorporated each of the characters and they did a fine job. Wish I could have seen a little more of the Hulk tearing things up and a little less of Hawkeye. I got chills up my spine for a few of the scenes, especially when Iron Man and Thor start throwing down in the woods. This is easily my favorite movie of the year

No. You click the little arrow next to the quote to jump right to it. Complain to the mods for the lack of nested quotes if you don't wanna do that.

The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret 8/10
I know it is a Tv show but whatever. The main characters played by David Cross and Will Arnett are unbelievability stupid and that might be a turn off for some but I really liked it. It is a way over the top politically incorrect comedy and it is only 12 episodes long so give it shot. Available on Netflix streaming.

The Host(2011,Korean) - 7.5/10

Good monster movie, with a dose of comedy on the side. The monster is cool.. CGI was OK; a bit dated, but acceptable. It has got some pacing issues and would've been happier if the movie was 20 mins shorter.

The poster is a bit deceiving in that the monster looks like a octopus, but it is like a cross between a lizard and a tadpole. In addition to the monster the characters are likeable - a bit on the goofy side, but it helps in adding comedic element to the movie.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie and appreciated for what it is.
