I went to see it last night as well. I would probably rate it at 7/10. It was good, but not in the 'best movies of all time' good. It has a few plot problems, and of course the big problem you mention in your spoilers.Across the Spider-Verse - 9/10
I ding it 1 point for 2 reasons:
1. The sound mix is kind of f'd up. The dialog is difficult to hear at times. I am getting old, my hearing isn't what it used to be, but it seems to be a common complaint.
2.To be continued... ugg...
Otherwise it is a brilliant movie. The animation is incredibly creative and beautiful.
On a tangent, it seems that the trend in Hollywood is towards longer movies. I don't mind that. I would rather have the movie run an extra 30 minutes then them try to edit it down to some predetermined time frame. But, can we all just agree that if you are making a movie much longer than 2 hours you need a intermission in it?
