I always felt that the first Batman movie didn't do Joker justice. He's way more insane and wacky. Whoever plays him needs to do him as a truly insane individual like he should be. While I think Heath Ledger isn't a bad actor, I don't think he can be Joker. The voice acting Mark Hammil does for the Batman animated series is perfection. They need to get someone that can pull off behavior like that. I feel the perfect person to play Joker would be comedian Dane Cook.
I disagree. I believe Batman Begins took the series to a believable level - outside of the comics. Burton?s Batman (include his own sequel and the 2 after that) had very much of a comic feel to it. Because of that I?d think Heath Ledger (or someone similar) would be perfect for the role. You have to think on a different level when transporting a character from a fictional universe to one that more reflects our own. I don?t think we?d be seeing a clown in the new movie, but real adversary we could believe in the real world.
The reason Joker is so deadly is because he's so insane he's completely unpredictable. Batman, the world's greatest detective, has real trouble knowing what Joker will do at any given time. If you remember in The Dark Knight Returns, Joker went so far as to snap his own neck to make the authorities believe Batman did it. I think whoever plays Joker needs to keep in mind the insanity that needs to be present for Joker. While Nicholson was a great bad guy, he was nowhere near what the joker should be. I'm not saying just have someone who is wacky, I'm saying have someone that is wacky at times, has a sick sense of humor, and goes quickly between laughing loony and madman brutal killer.
I also still think they need to do a Batman/Superman crossover in a movie, that would be awesome.[/quote]
I believe Brian Singer has been quoted as saying after he finished up his arch/trilogy of Superman movies he'd love to be involved in a Batman/Superman movie.
