The first movie was so badass so why not.

I didn't think Cillian Murphy would make a good Scarecrow but boy was I proven wrong.

Batman Begins was really dark and I liked that a lot. They also thankfuly avoided the camp factor of the last few films.

Using Chicago as Gotham also was very nice, it made it look so much more real than the other movies (I also saw my house in the film).

From what I understand Chicago was the inspiration for Gotham. Where as Metropolis was NYC.

does anyone know where i can find the map found in superman returns, where metropolis is basically where NYC is on the map?
I thought that in the DC Universe, that Metropolis, NYC, Gotham, all existed.

As much as I enjoyed Burton's vision, the Batman Begins movie took the franchise to a great new place. I hope they don't f it up in the sequel.

im not worried because Nolan was an amazing director and turned Batman Begins into one of my favorite movies. I wouldn't be surprised if Nolan forced the joker role out of Ledger and made people believe it to be a better role than that of Nicholson's Joker. That would be the day I cried I think, lol.. because Nicholson's Joker was amazing... and it'd be great to have a better Joker. Or at least a Joker that was on-par... I think Nolan can get that out of whoever he puts into the shoes of Joker.

Ok, well, obviously you haven't seen the turd that was X3. Batman Begins and Superman Returns was so far ahead of X3 it wasn't even funny. They both made X3 look like it was made by a child. If Hugh Jackman/Wolverine wasn't in the movie, no one would think it was good.

brokeback gotham!

actually i think this may work out well. ive enjoyed nolan's inspired casting thus far, especially gary oldman as gordon. but a part of me still thinks adrien brody or crispin glover would play the role well, and dont even need that much make-up. ;)

McKellan was way under used and Stewart 'died' early in the film. :(

Most likely. Should be interesting to see where Fantastic 4 2 fits in as well, there is lot of potential with that team.

F4 was great. not just because of alba, but it was a nice team action hero flick. that one i dont understand why so many people hated either.

I always felt that the first Batman movie didn't do Joker justice. He's way more insane and wacky. Whoever plays him needs to do him as a truly insane individual like he should be. While I think Heath Ledger isn't a bad actor, I don't think he can be Joker. The voice acting Mark Hammil does for the Batman animated series is perfection. They need to get someone that can pull off behavior like that. I feel the perfect person to play Joker would be comedian Dane Cook.

No doubt, the black suit / venom story should be pretty epic. More character depth with Spiderman's struggles. It should also be VERY fun to see him as something of an antihero when he's wearing the blacksuit, as he's inclined to kick ass before taking names, probably with a lot of the brutality we got to see with Batman Begins.

I disagree. I believe Batman Begins took the series to a believable level - outside of the comics. Burton?s Batman (include his own sequel and the 2 after that) had very much of a comic feel to it. Because of that I?d think Heath Ledger (or someone similar) would be perfect for the role. You have to think on a different level when transporting a character from a fictional universe to one that more reflects our own. I don?t think we?d be seeing a clown in the new movie, but real adversary we could believe in the real world.

I can't see Ledger as The Joker. The first post on RT suggests Paul Bettany (played Geoffrey Chaucer alongside Ledger in "A Knights Tale"). I can see Bettany as crazy evil like that.
