Now 75% off Board Games at Barnes And Noble

Barnes and Noble stores are apparently liquidating their inventory of certian board games. They have Fantasy Flight Games and Warhammer Stuff for 75% off. Games that have been seen include:

Twilight Imperium 3rd Edition
Warcraft + Expansions
Doom
War of the Ring
Senator
Mutiny
Citadels
Incognito
Munchkin
Super Munchkin
Muchkin Bites
Star Wars Risk
Various Warhammer Products

Plus if your a BN Member you save an additional 10%. YMMV depending on what your local stores have. A good deal on some awesome board games though.

Gaaaaah I just bought War of the Ring and a whole bunch of SJ games (which are ridiculously overpriced for the production value, but too fun to pass up.) I wonder if they stock Munchkin 4 Need for Steed.

Dude, awesome! I gotta go check this out. I already have Munchkin and both expansions and Munchkin Fu and Super Munchkin, but there's bound to be one at my local B&N I don't have.

Ah, Munchkin.

15 minutes of fun stuffed into a 2 hour game.

Seriously, though, I'd love to have a B&N near me that has any of those great Fantasy Flight games.

my local toys r us had a lot of trivial pursuit games on clearance... i got 90s, 20th aniv, and book lovers for ~35 total

YMMV

Whats a "SJ" game?

Steve Jackson.

And whats good about a "Steve Jackson" game? Is it like high quality, or?

Honestly? Mostly underproduced and overpriced, and famously so. (Well, not always underproduced, but he's always been great at making you think you got just not quite as much as you paid for.)

His games are usually pretty fun though. Lots of parody type stuff poking fun at the gamers.

I was really there for the fantasy flights games though.

I see a lot of mentions of Euro games on that site. What are they?
As you might be able to tell I'm a true amateur 🙂 I once bought an axis & allies game a long time ago but didn't play it much. Same with Diplomacy.

Eurogames are games that have a differnet plays style than american games. Think monopoly as the typical american game. (roll dice, move around a board, etc). The most famous euro game is probably Settlers of Catan. Awesome game, abstract strategy. If you've never played it, I'd highly recommend, fun for everyone, not only just gamers.

Can anyone find Twilight Imerium or War of the Ring at their stores? No location in Nebraska has them. Depending on the details, I could pay someone to ship to me...

The 75% off sale is in all my local BN's, but the chances of finding what you want in stock is the problem. I got the only copy of A Game of Thrones at the Oakview store in Omaha. There were plenty of poker chip sets and Risk: Star Wars edition left, some trivia games, puzzles, etc. The stores in Lincoln, NE have the 75% off sale too, but didn't have the particular games I asked about on the phone.

If you've got a store nearby, it's probably worth stopping by.

War of the Ring is a weighty game, not soley figuratively...
