Not to derail anything here, I just wanted to mention how chickens have been butchered a lot earlier in their growth to the point where if I go out to the Colonel's, or Popeyes, etc. I have to eat a thigh, breast, a coup'la wings and a drumstick to make my tummy happy, not including the sides. It's like describing two pieces of chicken as a meal is a joke now days.
I live in the country and chicken is kinda a byproduct around here. People just keep a few in their backyard for eggs or a dozen or so running around for meat. Chicken that spend their time running and flapping around the place scrabbling for food are a lot better to eat!

One or two of them is going to end up in a stew pot. More than one pathetic chicken raiser on my walk. Where's the friggin coyotes.

Happily, Ocean Shores has banned chickens in town for many years. That doesn't mean there aren't any...a few people thumb their noses at the laws. Our coyote population SHOULD do a decent job of controlling them, but there are fairly regular sightings of chickens along the road around town.

What's wrong with chickens in town?

Yeah, I enjoy all the chickens in Hawaii, as long as they aren't hurting native populations.

I recall how many years ago one of the hurricanes that swept through Kauai scattered a lot of chickens being kept in coops and they really loved and prospered living the feral life.

So the last time I visited Kauai for fishing and diving, there were chickens all over place *except* in the plantation camps where nary a single stray chicken was seen. The contrast was sort'a amusing to behold.

Of course it is, but I'm not inclined to spend my time that way, just musing ( ;) )
Seems you aren't either, as you've provided no new information (believe it or not, having been on the internet for decades means I know you can search for stuff)
I wasn't trying to imply you are incompetent. However, nowadays if you want to know stuff, being disinclined to spend your time searching on the internet does seem remiss. Anyway I was just messing around.

For shits and giggles let’s throw a tuberculosis outbreak into the mix.

Team Trump wouldn’t want to see this devastate a red state like Kansas, but they’re definitely gonna make federal health authorities fights this with hands tied behind their backs.

I do research things on the internet when they're things I actually want to know ;)

The head of the USDA was one of the IG's fired yesterday. She refused and was escorted out of her office today. The USDA has been at the heart of concerns about bird flu!

In an email to colleagues on Saturday, reviewed by Reuters, she said the independent Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency “has taken the position that these termination notices do not comply with the requirements set out in law and therefore are not effective at this time”

She needs to stay away from windows in tall buildings and try to have witnesses around her at all times...

Yup, like I've said in this forum there's gonna be a ton of litigation going on continually during this administration. Trump or his lawyers are always in court, probably will be until years after his death in fact. Trump could be the most litigious person in history by the time it all plays out sometime in the latter half of the 21st century. I find all that pretty awful. I've never sued any person or institution in my life and no entity has sued me. I'm not against it, but haven't found myself in one of those situations.

Here's a favorite song that IMO puts the courtroom, shall we say, somewhat in its place:

Oh, I thought that was going to be Hillary's problem if she had gotten elected president. Ahem.

If anyone here knows any ER docs/staff, ask them if they are prepping pandemic protocols. I have heard from one contact outside my state that some of his hospitals are gearing up to acquire PPE and establish protocols for a potential surge in avian flu.

This is not because they see it coming (no surge in cases currently where they are)—but because the hospital admin teams have zero confidence in either a) getting advance notice from federal authorities in the event of a pandemic surge, and b) because they don’t anticipate federal authorities will be in a position to assist with PPE supply chain efforts.

Hospitals are assuming they are fending for themselves. Let that sink in.

Given the evidence at hand, it does seem to be the prudent option.

What, he hasn't already canceled pandemic planning like he did in his first term?
See, failure to plan, is, what happens is, if there's no planning, there's no pandemic. Why are you planning on having a pandemic, do you hate America's Greatness?

Well, the person in charge of America’s response to bird flu just quit. No worries, I’m sure Musk’s Twitler Youth can add it to their growing list of responsibilities. One of them probably played that ‘Pandemic’ board game once!

Also, that new novel bird flu is now infecting dairy cattle in Nevada.
