Looking forward to seeing Ken Jennings beat (hopefully) Watson.
Some questions on Jeopardy are so trickily worded, you need a
human's interpretation to even come close to the correct answers.

Have you seen what Watson can do? It's pretty unbelievable.

It answers questions, on average, at the same level that Ken Jennings does. It definitely has weaknesses in understanding, but its knowledge base is excellent and the machine learning algo they developed to teach it to play jeopardy is remarkable. Hell, it's ability to learn on the fly is ridiculous.

I have almost zero doubt that Watson will win.

you know they will have "funny questions" about SkyNet, HAL etc written for tonight's show.

This. IMHO it all depends on the writers of the questions. If they really want a human to win, they'll use all new & really clever writers so that the computer doesn't have a chance to assimilate anything into its information bank.

I'm rooting for Ken, my own species.

If the humans were smart they'd go for the top dollar amounts right away before the computer can pick up on the pattern of the category and when it does the dollar amounts won't be much.

i'm rooting for watson.
so eventually you can ask your computer or phone stupid questions and get an answer :awe:

Lol, this is awesome!

Watson: What is Leg?
Alex: Wrong...What is missing a leg.

Watson: What is 1920?
Alex: Wrong...Ken already said 1920...

lmao. I find it very amusing when Watson is wrong. 😛

The game is close so far!
Very entertaining.
