Notice to the TeAm

Hello all! I wanted to give everyone a heads up on something that I am about to do and because of all the cheating BS that has been going on I don't want to raise any eyebrows with this. I have 3 computers at home crunching. I used to only have mine and my daughters (when it was running) Now with mine and my duaghters going 24/7 I added another in the garage a couple weeks ago. So I have an AMD 1600, 1800 and 2000. Well I wont have my home network finished until next weeked and both my daughters 1800 and the garage 1600 have no way to dump WU's unless I physically remove the HD and slave it to mine. So I have been building them up a bit and have somewhere in the neighborhood of 200+. So I get my wireless nic next week and running a cat5 line to the garage next weekend and will start dumping them. Now with all the cheating going on and me only pumping out 20 WU a day, how should I go about this? I don't want other teams to see me dump 200 one day and have them raise accusation. Should I trickle them out or just dump them? I also wanted to make sure that you all knew this as well. So please advise as to what you all think will be the best way to handle this. Oh by the way, I was dumping WU's from my daughters system via "sneakernet" with a floppy. Well my system has no floppy, and hers died. The garage comp was built without a floppy also. So that is why I have been waiting for my home network.

Thanks TeAm.

Oh...just dump them.

Remember the days of the mega-WU dumps from Cygor and Cobra? Others have done it. I think I had a 100WU dump once back when my avg was maybe 15-20.

No biggie.

Let 'er rip!

Don't worry. 😉

I also make a 200+ flush every week when I flush my work setiqueue. 😉 🙂
My SETI history is full of dumps. 😀

If your computers had been uploading a normal load of WU everyday and THEN you did a dump that might raise and eyebrow, but since they have been offline all this time I am sure no one would think anything about it.

🙂 Well if all goes well I will DUMP AWAY next weekend. I should get my wireless nic Wed. and run the cat5 to the garage Saturday! WOO HOO!!!!!! Thanks guys, I was just a little worried!

As Smokeball said......now back to football!!!!!

I don't think you have anything to Worry about Mr Funk. If you dumped 20K of WU then maybe someone would ask what was going on. But at least you can show that they have been working for days then I don't think you have anything to worry about. 😀

Only 200 WUs? Where's the other 2,800 WUs?!? I thought you were going to be making an impressive dump? 😕 😛

Seriously, a 200 dump isn't going to raise eyebrows and the fact that you were concerned about the potential perception for the TeAm speaks volumes to me about your integrity, so just go ahead and dump them. 🙂

No one will worry about a dump of 200, as people do stuff like that all the time (remote herds, comps with no net connections etc), it's only if you suddenly start pumping out 200+ per day all of a sudden that people will start to wonder about! 🙂

Go ahead and dump them 😀

SETI HQ knows how many WUs you have downloaded, now you are simply sending them back. Keep on crunchin!! 🙂

Well it will suddenly not be that big of a dump! The cruncher I have set up in the garage, has a dead hard drive. I have been in the "O.R." all night trying to get a pulse, or some sign of life. I am not able to get any signs of life. So all those WU's are gone. Dead and burried! I AM VERY BUMBED! Oh well. That gives me an excuse to buy a new quieter HD, then I can use the new one for the front room and give the garage the older one. So I guess it works out. The HD was the loudest thing in the front room PC. Well cheers guys, back to pulling fantasy football stats!
