All my "caps" are green 3900uF ones. Disappoited, but nonetheless this board ROX!

Anyways, I think those with 4700uF caps were early models - before they increased production levels to meet demand.

Hmm just checked again. I've got four silver and three green up top. Seems rock stable to me.

I have 4 silvers and 3 green and I doubt it really makes a diffference as has been pointed out. This board is stable; which is a dream come true after owning an Abit Ka7.
I think a more noticable difference is some came out with the talking system check thing and some didn't. Mine didn't have it which I'm relieved about.

heng1028,

They are about the same physical size. I got the 4 silver (4700uf) and 3 green (3900uf) configuration. They all seem to work.

Craig

if someone is that concerned about it, maybe they should put their less-than-par boards up for sale on Anand's, instead of screwing the distributors

Ok you asked! The size of the capaciter is relitive to the imedance caused by the circuit runs on the motherboard in relation to the expected frequency of unwanted noise in the system. This basically shorts unwanted frequencies to ground (usually 60hz noise from the power supply) It is indeed the quality of the capaciters, namely the material they are made out of , not the specific rating that makes a good cap.

So the overall board stability is more than just the size of the caps.

Hi,

Bought four of these boards at Fry's yesterday. One has the (7) 4700uF capacitors with voice and the other three have (4) 4700uF capacitors and (3) 3900uF capacitors without voice. All of the boards serial numbers are within 200 numbers on the same lot. So far I cannot tell any difference in the stability, in fact one of the 4/3 boards will overclock the same cpu further than any of the other boards. Just a luck of the draw as to what performance you will get from the same board models.
