I run F@H on 3 machines. 2 of them are at work, and one here at home. I always ran them as a regular program on each machine. I was crunching at about 100 pts a day combined.
A few days ago I installed them all as a service instead because I noticed at work my coworkers would log out at the end of the day but leave the pc running. I wanted the program to run all the time if possible.
Since then I've picked up an extra 35 pts a day because now F@H runs 24/7 no matter who is logged in or even if no one is logged in.
The point of all this: even if you have permission to run a DC project on machines at work or even other family members' machines, you should still consider running it as a service to get the most out of it.
