Read the last few lines.

So last night, my Wii auction went on eBay for $411 + shipping. I was, as you probably would be, extremely happy. However, several hours later, I received an email from eBay:

Dear xxxxxx,

The results of the following listings have been cancelled due to bidding activity that took place without the account owner's authorization:

270060617591 New Nintendo Wii, In Box, Never Opened!!@@@@@@@@@@

This was a pretty big bummer to me, especially since I had already sent out an email asking the "buyer" about what shipping was wanted and such.

However, earlier today, I got this email:

PayPal Payment Transaction Details xxxxx:

Total Amount:

$611.00 USD
Date: Nov. 30, 2006
Time: 10:58:36 PDT
Status: Completed

270060617591
Wii... 1 $411.00 USD
Shipping & Handling via USPS Global Express Mail (EMS)
(includes any seller handling fees): $200.00 USD
Shipping Insurance : $00.00 USD

Total:
$611.00 USD

Hmm... Global? What's this all about?

And a follow up email:

I just want to inform you that the payment has been made and i have included $200 for shipping , becouse the item is going to Africa as a gift i am presenting to my grand son (Lukman) and i want it to be ship out as soon as you got the confirmation of the payment, i am out of the state that is why you wont be able to send to me, please ship it with USPS Global Express Mail ( EMS) becouse the item is needed urgently...

thanks

ship to address
Adewoye lukman
1 agunbiade street

kwara state
Nigeria

So, I'm 90% sure I'm not going to send the item out.

But out of curiosity, what can the scammer do to me through eBay? Claim that the item was never shipped? File a dispute somehow? If I got shipping labels and everything at the post office, can they do such a thing?

Basically what I'm asking is, how can they scam me?

sorry for the long post.

EDIT: oops, I should pay more attention to the FROM address line.

you'll just have a negative paypal balance, w/d funds to your checking account and right after that cancel the paypal account, they can't do sh1t, send the wii away to nigeria, har har
