You do realize there are more than one mobo company on the market right? Asus fanboy much? Same goes for the HDs.

from what i've seen, the biostar 965p is suppose to be one of hte better overclockers...

So I hurt two people's feeling 'cause I stated the obvious? While your intention was good, you should've stated this is purely a thread created to promote Asus products. It's unfortunate that Gigabyte DS3 and a number of other mobos didn't work for you, and Asus mobos magically do, but a lot of other consumers and overclockers purchased Gigabyte DS3 mobos and have absolutely no problem running it and getting great OC from it.

DS3-DS6: Horrible Bios support, still many of the features are broken, boot up time to windows is also 7 seconds more from than P5B from my experience. You also need to find a golden board. There is a huge range, first one I tried did 380 FSB, next one did 480, no consistency on chips.

I got DS3 to work right out of the box w/ F3 BIOS. Never had a problem getting any of the features to work. Bootup time's quick. I don't know what kind of golden board you're talking about, but I'm using the highly hated and incompatible OCZ RAM on my DS3 and it runs perfectly fine. Just because a mobo doesn't work for you doesn't mean it's a dud for everybody else. If people don't know any better and read your extended Asus promotional post, they'll all run off to buy Asus and act like it's the only mobo they should buy.

Well it is a good board, it is just is a bit harder to configure, and you need to addd active cooling to the northbridge. Any time you see it with a high fsb it is not with the stock aluminum heatsink

See no difference w/ and w/o a fan on the DS3 NB. Same NB temperature and same stability w/ 425FSB. Buy a good case w/ good air flow and you wouldn't need to dish out another $20-$30 for a NB HSF for added aesthetics.

i read the thread before it was edited.

it was a good read and helpful for those setting up Asus boards.

It was a good guide but not comprehensive enough for all C2D boards and overclocking.

I don't know why you got rid of your post.

ignore the people that flame. good job on the post... well when it was there at least. :)

Well i did it because the voltage options are the same on all boards. But I agree now it did look biased, and becuase of that I will make a new post that contains a different motherboard for each segment. It was never my intention to make a post that looked biased like that, but it did need to be reworked in the end.

to be honest though, the p5b is a GREAT board and i don't blame you for usin git for some many of your categories...

try again. don't give up.

Yo, Yoxxy, for a newbie (to this forum, not necessarily to computers in general), you write some great posts. If you think you might have seriously screwed up, try again, no big deal. Some of us appreciate informative threads, no matter what hardware we own.;)

Yoxxy, I didn't get to see your post, but would like to offer my experiences with a P5B-Deluxe/WiFi if you are interested in expanding your motherboard type/s. You can use this response to a poster in the motherboard forum.

If you choose not to, atleast give us back your original post :(

EDIT: Just wanted to add something to this: We are ALL biased towards one product or another in some way, either by experience, perfomance or even looks. For example, I had a horrid experience with a Fortron Source PSU, and I would not recommend one because of it. Therefore I guess you could say I am biased toward other manufacturers.
