I don't think it's a second anus, it's a new one. So they cut it out like they were gutting a deer and put in a new tighter anus.
 
Well shit.

She got a two for one deal. All she has to do is go back there and get a new leg and they will do it for free since it's their mistake. It's like I take my car in for an oil change and get a free engine (new car again).
 
This is TOTALLY SERIOUS:

If you ever are going to be put under in a hospital, you should write on all your limbs, in large letters, with a large black felt tip marker, "DO NOT REMOVE" or "WRONG".

If you are having surgery on one of your limbs, you should circle the surgical site and write on that limb, "SURGERY HERE" or "CORRECT"


You should write on your torso, over locations such as your spine, heart, liver and kidney, "NO SURGERY" or "WRONG".

If you are having surgery in one of those locations, you should draw circle around the area and write, "SURGERY HERE" or "CORRECT".


Some hospitals/doctors/nurses will do it for you if you ask.

Many now already draw a circle around the surgical site before putting you under.


Others will disagree with me, but is the risk of an incorrect surgery worth not doing the above?

I agree with MotionMan. Any time I've ever had surgery, they come in beforehand, discuss what is being done and marked the surgery sites and what is being done.

I've never heard of this startlingly simple solution to a problem we hear about that should never happen. I like it.
