Touche DesignDawg, you have a point. But still how many PD's in Alabama are gonna bust people for having a vibrator? Would a cop arrest his own wife?I doubt that the cops here are so conservative that they would interfere in someone's private matters and expose them to such embarrasssment.

Redneck, being the dink that I am I'm going to have to tell you to read at least part of the articles I quoted earlier. :) Note, it is not illegal to own a sex toy, but to sell and distribute them. So only if the Cops wife had a toy manufacturing site in the garage would he have to worry about that. I'm not saying I agree with the law, just making sure you understand what you're talking about.

Aye Aye Capn:),
I know what you are saying, and was responding more to Shuxclams comments than yours. My only point was that just because a law is there, doesn't mean that it is enforced to the letter.

And unenforced laws are used to discrimate and manipulate people. Unenforced laws are a huge danger to the public, they are used against unpopular individuals or people the police and politicians are seeking to punish.

"...why the heck should the sale of sex toys/aids to adults be regulated!?!?"
  • "Tipper Gore, mother of four, found out the hard way, when her 11-year- old daughter came home with Prince?s ?Purple Rain.? ?She bought it because she liked "Let?s Go Crazy," but then I heard the words to "Darling Nikki," with its lyrics about a girl masturbating with a magazine, and I started paying attention.?"
Tipper?s Odyssey (The Washington Post, 6/19/85)
PMRC?s Formation

In April 1985, along with three other "well-connected Washington wives and mothers" Tipper founded the PMRC. Almost overnight the group "emerged as rock?s most potent critics."

Btw, this is NOT a sexual discussion post, but rather a question of whether the Gores should desire THAT much censorship in our private lives. I personally feel that it's none of the Gore's darn business. Bah humbug.

This issue has nothing to do with Al Gore. You brought up a bunch of crap on a political slant to denegrate Gore on an issue in Alabama? Why don't you check the political affiliations of the Alabama legislature that voted this assenine law in.THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH AL GORE OR HIS WIFE!:|

ouch what a moron. Its far far more likely that a conservative group actually went through with this kind of b/s law.

No it doesn't slick, it has to do with the government and censorship, as unxpurg8d pointed out in the topic. That's the Gore's view of freedom too.

Maybe you should check with unxpurg8d, before you try to change the subject of the topic.

This post isn't about censorship which the PRMC was about, this is based on some moralistic agenda, neither of which many if any support. Bringing that crap in here is pretty lame IMO john.

Boy, you know there is a fine line between "public interest" and fanaticism. I am a Christian and a conservative, but I do not agree with this one bit. While I may (or may not :)) find that act repugnant, it sickens me to think that the government is entering the BEDROOMS of U.S. citizens. Now while I do not agree that ALL actions in the privacy of ones home are exempt (obvious ones like cultivating drugs or running a kiddie porn ring), for the most part, I do now want anyone to be subjected to this type of crap

FYI: This is not necessarily ALL conservatives... There are some ultra's out there that support this (hell, some want to outlaw FAT FOODS) crap, but for the most part conservatives champion government staying OUT of people's lives... smaller the government, the better.
