Nothing inventive and exciting has been invented after 1900?

Since 1900, almost 100 years humans didn't really invent anything if you come to think of it. Every major discovery was made in the 19th century. Ok, I know we advanced very much in the ergonomic life style, luxury and health...but other than that, real discoveries haven't been made,

We still use basic physic principals, trying to beat gravity with raw power, our travel is based on parasitic usage of existent energy...true, educated people that work in the area of microprocessor etc really are professionals, know their job, can perfect things...but, where are, what happened to the real inventors? I don't recall a genius worth mentioning after Albert Einstein.

I read quantum physics articles sometimes. People imagination is great, we have ideas that eventually get incorporated into Hollywood movies but nothing happens.

Or, is it just me, and I live in an universe which due to my disbelief in magic (I believe in magic but I don't think it is real because I haven't seen any examples so practically it is if I don't believe in first place) inherits only conservative stuff and nothing really happens? - :p) I tend to believe I live in a field of infinite universes that everything is possible and whatever you wants happen, mechanism is that you are "transported" to place where that happens.

i disagree. i think the 20th century saw more technologic advances and more new inventions than any other time before it.

sure, things werent thought up by one person. thier arent any single 'great inventors' like in the past.... but their are still a lot of really smart people working together to make new things and to make the things we have better.

Tell that to the tens of thousands of people credited with inventions since 1900. Inventions in the 20th century are tremendous, probably the most inventive era in human history to date.

Don't forget the MICROWAVE! Now, if there were only a machine that could do the opposite of a microwave, cooling down things as fast as a microwave heats up.

At it again huh? Well I've got time, I'm bored ATM anyways. No real geniuses you say? Do you know who Steven Hawking is? Look him up. Our travel is based on parasitic usage of existent energy? Energy cannot be created, nor destroyed all the energy we have is all we are going to have, so it is ridiculous to bash human ingenuity over a law of physics. As for the Gravity argument, Scientists are making strides toward better understanding gravity and how it works, take the electron for example, look at all we have done now that we know what its purpose is, the same will hold true for gravity, but time is needed. Oh and as for no real inventions? Nuclear power.

What do you need cooled that fast anyway, can't wait for the ice to be made to put in a drink?

I think everyone has forgot the Salad Shooter or anything else from RonCo
