I Pledge Allegiance to you Locutus. Can we also add in putting shit into "Documents and Settings", hell I'd rather that whole perversion be eliminated, too?
where the fvck are apps supposed to put data and user configs then
Where they used to, in a Sub-Directory where they were Installed.
that makes no sense.
You ever try looking through Users (seriously guys, XP is gone, Documents and Settings is gone)? Why do I need Local, LocalLow, and Roaming? Are my applications roaming outside of Windows coverage and into my Linux installation? WTF? Why does Microsoft need a folder in every fucking directory?
Each of them serves a different but important purpose.
Local = Application preference / settings / data that was not generated
that must not ever roam to another computer when roaming profiles are utilized.
Roaming = Application preference / settings / data that was not generated
that should always roam to other computers when roaming profiles are utilized.
LocalLow = I can't remember the details; I do recall that the settings must not roam, but I can't remember whether Low represents low security or what.
These folders are extremely important in an
enterprise windows deployment; if you have a better idea then I'd love to hear about it.
