Alright, so here's the deal. I recently installed an HP Deskjet 3520 printer on a computer on my network. It's a simple enough machine, and I am able to print things from the computer it's connected to and from my main computer.

However, my parents use this computer and need to be able to print from it. Initially it printed fine when I tested it to make sure I'd done the installation right and had it working as a shared printer. However, now I have the following problems:

1. When started, Wordpad (not Microsoft Word...Wordpad) immediately freezes up and has to be forcefully stopped.

2. Same for Notepad.

3. When my parents try to print out their tax record from Turbotax Deluxe 2004, the following error is given:
________________________________
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
---------------------------------------------
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\TurboTax\Deluxe2004\32bit\ttax.exe

abnormal program termination
________________________________

I was getting the same error for Wordpad/Notepad (with a path to the appropriate .exe, ofcourse) a couple of days ago, but not anymore...they just lock now.

I dug through the Microsoft Knowledge Base to see if there was anything on it and I couldn't find anything that would help. Has anyone dealt with this before, or have an idea on how to potentially fix it? I really don't want to reformat, as making backups and finding needed drivers would be a pain in the neck, to say the least :|

Reinstall it (the printer) on the machine that is crashing. I've seen this exact thing and the network connection had become disabled actually and the same error message that you get was coming up.
