I am looking for a decent priced notebook for my mother to use, for her work(Commercial Realestate Broker... so mostly word processing contracts - emailing - lots of research - nothign very demanding). I am planning on buying this ASAP as a birthday gift. I have been looking around the forums and FW but havent really found a "hot" deal togo with.

I am shooting for a Pentium-M processor notebook(or if the price convinces me otherwise). Monitor doesnt really make much of a difference since it is a business computer. RAM/HD/VC/etc can be all average. Maybe one of you might know of a good deal I have overlooked.

Thanks in advance...

For what your looking for just watch your local ads. Best Buy, CompUsa and CC have all had decent sub $1000 machines.

Personally, a sub $1000 Toshiba would be what I would aim for. My father needed one for the same reason and found a really nice Toshiba for $800.

Your mother should be fine with:
Celeron Processor
256 MB or more ram
20 GB or more hard drive
Modem and 10/100 Ethernet
XP Home

As long as you find those you should be fine.
