I have no clue what to do.

I have an hp pavilion ze1250. After getting a nasty virus today, I decided to reformat the computer. However, I neglected to remember the thing shuts itself off everyonce in a while. However, i have no clue why it does that, it's obviously something hardware related, but I know nothign about laptops, and what it takes to actually pry them open and work on them. The power will just randomly turn off whether it's on AC or not, so I think it might be something with the processor fan and overheating? I'm not sure, anyway, if anyone has any suggestions as to what to do, it would be GREATLY appreciated.
