Hey guys, would the following setup work for HD Video Editing. I'm doing mainly home movies and some sports video analysis....some photoshop too.

# Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
# ? Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53GHz)
# ? 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) - For 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 130M
# ? FREE Upgrade to 320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
# ? 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 130M - For DDR3 Memory
# ? 18.4" diagonal High Definition HP Ultra BrightView Infinity Display (1920x1080p)
# ? Lightscribe Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD+/-R/RW Double Layer
# ? Webcam + Fingerprint Reader with HP Imprint Finish (Fluid)
# ? Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card with Bluetooth
# ? 50% OFF!! HP Integrated HDTV Hybrid Tuner
# ? HP Color Matching Keyboard
# ? 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
FREE HP DESKJET D4360 PRINTER

It's going to run me $1317 Shipped - $70 Rebate so $1247 after all said and done.
I'll upgrade the memory and the Hard Drive as the prices drop.

It also says "dual hard drive (optional)" I wonder if that means hardware raid or software raid possibilities.

I want to get something that'll last me a while.

I looks good. Depending on your intentions you may want to consider going for the quad. But at another $250 you would have to be pretty serious about it.

It has RAID 0, hell its offered straight from the factory.

What would be the first thing to upgrade on this? I was thinking changing the 5400 rpm hard drive to a 7200 rpm one.

Are you sure it has Raid 0?

well one thing about laptops.. very few have really good color reproduction compared to some standalone lcd monitors

not sure if that would be a concern for you or not

A lot of guys on FW were saying that the HP was better then the XPS. I don't want anything laggy at all. Now I'm wondering if I should just build a desktop with that same amount of money.
