Had a wart on my left index finger for months and months now. Just been too lazy to go out and get a proper wart removal kit or go to the doctor to get it removed. I know the porper way is either by acid or get the doctor to freeze it off. What I've been doing is using a nailclipper to cut the top of the wart off when it get's hard and crusty. Sometimes I cut too deep though and it bleeds like a fucker. Annoying thing is I cut this over an hour ago and it's still bleeding a bit, like those cuts you get from shaving that never seem to stop bleeding. How long is it normal for these types of cuts to bleed anyway?

You might have cut a larger vein (instead of the usual capillaries). Take a rag/bandage/etc and apply a lot of pressure for 10 minutes. Don't take it off to check it.

Just apply pressure and gauze. If it really gets bad put a loose tourniquet on it; make sure it doesn't turn colors though.

Could be that I cut a larger blood vessel. I've done this a number of times actually, lol. :p

Umm yeah it's not that bad. It's a small cut, like shaving cuts, I just don't want to get small blood stains all over the place and bandaids are a real pain in the ass on your index finger.

I popped a pimple on my nose about 5 years ago. It bled like crazy for several hours. I couldn't get it to completely stop bleeding for a few days.

When it healed, my skin just kinda grew over the wound and left me with a blood blister. I popped it several times, but it would just bleed for days again and heal the same way. I even had a doctor try to pop it and stop the bleeding correctly, but he had the same results as me. (I haven't popped it and cauterized it though).

The end result is that I've got this little permanent blood blister on my nose. Ironically, it looks like a pimple. Its been there for 5 years.

Lol strange. Yeah doesn't sound like that's worth dealing with but I'd guess that getting it cauterized would be the final solution.

same thing back in college...had that shit for 2 years. all the stuff the doctors gave did nothing (must have gone like 5 times), the liquid nitrogen was crap. i, myself, kept cutting it with everything - clippers, knives, etc. etc. then one nigh i got sick and tired of it. got a friend to use incense and burn/heat that shit to the point where I was screaming because it hurt so bad. worst part was it on my thumb, where there are lots of sensory nerves.

but it slowly dissapeared and it never came back...so it was worth it. i gotta say they didn't just burn the wart directly; had to burn around it as well...and took us like 1.5 hours because they really wanted to burn whole thing all the way down to make sure there wasn't a little piece left over that wasn't burnt

OP, have you tried the apple cider vinegar trick yet?

You soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and tape it over the wart while you sleep at night. Do this every night and the wart will fall off after 1-7 days.

Sounds crazy, but I've had really good luck with this technique.

D:D:

Actually I was thinking of burning this off. I have some strong topical aesthetic here that I could use along with incense, strange I thought of using incense as well. Probably not a good idea but well... :hmm:

What about painting the wart with nail polish or something else flammable and setting it on fire? :hmm:

I've actually heard of people painting their warts with nail polish. Apparently depriving the wart of oxygen helps to kill it.

Cutting it isn't going to get rid of the wart, you need to burn it off with dry ice. I recommend letting a dermatologist do it for you though, you could really screw yourself up if you do it wrong.

Oh, direct pressure and elevate it. Keep that going for over six minutes and it will stop.

Will the dirt under the sink work as well? :hmm:

To stop the bleeding? No.

To start an infection? Yes.

I have a mole that I occasionally nick while shaving. Bleeds like crazy. Only the styptic pencil stops it.

Frankly, I've found the nailclipper approach to be the most fool proof method of getting rid of warts quickly and permanently. You actually have to cut underneath it though. Hurts momentarily and will bleed for about a day. Nothing neosporin and a band-aid won't take care of, though.

I ripped one out of the under side of my foot as well as another on the top of my index finger. Bled like hell, but never came back. Cutting it really doesn't do the trick, you need to get the root out to get the job done right.

This is why I've been using the nail clipper as it worked in the past for a few warts. This one hurts too much to cut any deeper than I've gone so far though. I have some topical aesthetic I could use but in all honestly I'd probably just end up with a scar and a stupid story.

shens. How do you rip one out? They are part of the rest of the tissue surrounding them. They have blood vessels in them usually.

Took some time but I just gripped it with my nails, turned it back and forth a few times and pulled/twisted it out.
