Asians are bad drivers.

Black people are inclined to commit violent crimes.

Whities are racist.

All latinos are illegal immigrants, and also Mexican.

Everyone knows this. If you don't, then you must be a stupid Polack.

😛

damn, i saw some NSFW accident pics before, one where the driver's head was sheared off.... while the passenger still in the crashed car alive and in shock.

just like here, the cyclists are the ones to blame. 😉 The cars looked fine overall.

re: bad asian drivers... it's all about the personality. If they're timid which a lot are, they're likely to make stupid decisions whether they should go or not. I mean look at the stereotypical asian woman... they don't know wtf they're supposed to do in certain situations and just get nervous. You'll never catch riceboy asians driving badly in the conventional sense. Nor the white-bread ones.

But everyone there is adhering to the chaos and are extra alert therefore regardless of how crazy it may seem, there is a method to the madness. I doubt you'll ever see them putting on their make-up, talking on their cell phones, eating, or hanging out in the fast lane blocking people...

As scary as it looks, you do get accustomed to it.

Everytime I go to India, the 6 hour drive from the airport to my house has my heart racing, but after a week, you really do get used to it.

Asian driving styles habits are really ass backwards compared to ours. It's almost like functional chaos.

They don't use rear view mirrors so much as they use horns. When you pass someone on the side, it is polite and almost mandatory to use your horn to let them know you're there instead of them relying on using the mirrors.
Also, everyone is at any given moment, ready to pass someone, so they always drive more on the middle of the road to have that time advantage so they can merge back into their line while narrowly missing oncoming traffic.

overrated
you just go slow and take it 1 movement at a time
if birds and schools of fish can do it we can do it

in some places in europe i think they are actually removing traffic lights.
people slow down and are more careful it seems.

At least we have rules regardless of if people follow them.

Each year, more than 110,000 people are killed in traffic accidents in China, according to official statistics. The death rate per 10,000 vehicles, a benchmark measuring traffic safety, is eight times that of the United States, a country that has nearly 10 times as many vehicles per 1,000 people.

gah - I might be heading to Dalian in September [Intel Fab68 work] - I better make sure my Will is up to snuff. 🙂

No wonder they won't allow you to rent a car unless you have a Chinese Driver's License 😀

Hah, nothing compared to Afghanistan, but yeah.. that's bad.

Iraq is a bit worse. More cars in a denser population in some places. Now try to get 30 tractor trailers through a traffic circle. Fun times.

BTW, in the Middle East it is allowable to pass slower traffic in the oncoming lane, even if a divided highway, as long as you pull over, slow down(some), and flash your headlights.
