Yea I live in the central valley and I've never had warm hot sauce, or salsa/pico de gallo. Always room temp or chilled salsa/pico. Maybe it's something going on in the bay that hasn't caught up to us rural folk.

Aside from grilling peppers, Mexican food is just not something I've ever found to have good spicy food in general....

That and as far as hot sauce, what mexican dish goes well with hot sauce anyhow?

How do you heat hot sauce? I guess what I'm asking, is how is it presented? I've only seen bottles on the table. I'll have to reserve judgment on warm hot sauce, cause I haven't had it.

I assume he means room temperature, and he's correct. I hate a restaurant...or god forbid someone's house...where they have goddamn brown-colored hot sauce out on a table because the savages let it oxidize over how many months or years that they never properly stored it at ~10 C.

jerks.

Nah. Dip that shit in queso son. Screw hot sauce.

I don't understand queso on any of those things. none of those things need queso. burritos, tacos, enchiladas...they all have more than enough cheese already. Hot sauce is required.

Queso is for chips. I also don't trust anyone from Texas when it comes to food, so there's that, too.

I don't heat anything. Some Mexican/Tex-Mex (both) now think its cool to serve their "hot sauce" hot. This was never done back in the day. Its some move designed to seem trendy. I have no idea exactly how they heat it - all I know is that it SUCKS. SO BAD.

Oh, I stand corrected. He's talking about something crazy. I've never seen this.

I leave some of my hot sauce out. If I have a bottle open two weeks, that's a long time. Some of my megahot sauces go in the fridge cause they linger longer.

no dumbasses, it's cooked salsa (are you guys aware that "salsa" is spanish for "sauce"?) that is served warm. my favorite tex mex place ever (RIP los dos amigos) served a red sauce straight out of a steamy pot. frickin' delicious. @local knows what i'm talking about.

it's like i'm sitting here playing cards with my brother's kids or somethin

Yep and it is amazing on a cold day.

coming from San Antonio which probably has the best Tex Mex food in the country.. 100% incorrect.

Some salsas are much better warm. plus.. why would i want to put COLD salsa on my hot food?

Is OP talking about hot sauce or salsa? Either way, warm or cold, hot sauce and salsa are good. Not sure where you're getting the "trend" thing from.

do NOT fall for the stupid "warm hot sauce" trend. It is horrible. Everyone knows hot sauce is supposed to be cool to the touch. Warm hot sauce blows. I mean, BLOWS. Do not do it, or else I and so many others will not eat at your restaurant because it SUCKS.

That is all.
You must not be going to Authentic Mexican places...
