Note 5?

Any idea when the Note 5 might come out?
Wife is due for an upgrade next month. She has a Note 2 and it seems as soon as she got it, the 3 came out. Don't want to do that again.

Why not? Why pay $700-$800 for a Note 5 when you'll probably be able to get a Note 4 for $400-$500?

Anyway, the Note 5 will probably come out in the fall as it usually does.

Thanks.
I'll get the S6 and she'll get an 8 month old phone... 😀
Note 4 > S6. 😉

Nope. Dont care.
Samsung isnt the top of the heap any more.

But if the past is any indication, it will probably be available around Black Friday.

I just felt bad for her because her phone is over 2 generations old. But my my S4 will be too..

Just this week i went from the note 2 to a S5 and it's a huge difference to me. Sure the screen is .4 inches smaller but the cpu is 900mhz faster and 2 generations newer.

The note 2 was a good phone but it's time has passed. If I was getting a new phone now on contract I'd get the note 4 instead of the S6 if the size isn't a issue

Rumor has it that the Note 5 will have a 4K screen. Not that you'd need a 4K screen on a phone, even a phablet, but since it shoots 4K video and can source 4K video it probably wouldn't hurt. Perhaps a tad more battery hungry but if the size of the screen is the same the difference in power required won't be all that much.

Phablets aren't my thing (too big) but what Android phablet is likely to be better than the Note? I thought that that was generally regarded pretty favourably by most people.

Nothing is close today. Back with the first LG G Pro, coming out 6 months after the Note 2, it was a superior device in many ways. The G Pro 2 was a worthy competitor to the Note 3, though it didn't distinguish itself even with the same 6 month advantage. As the Note series continued to enhance multitasking and spen, LGs Phablets started feeling like just big screens.

Note 4 stands alone as more than just a big screen.

I would probably rather have a Nexus 6 honestly, and I love my Note 2. I suppose the Note 4 developer edition would be OK as well.

On contract (with Verizon) the LG G3 is the only phone I would consider at this point.

Agreed, it's the best one out there, the replaceable battery and stylus put it on the top of every objective reviewer's phablet list.

Why? Verizon sells the Nexus 6 in their store, I went with a friend to get one. It is the Verizon phone to get for nerds for sure. Already running 5.1.

Really? Is that a new thing? I popped in the Verizon store a month or so ago and when I asked about the Nexus 6 all I got were blank looks. Not that getting blank stares from those people is unusual.

Thanks for the heads-up. Looks like I might be able to finally upgrade.
