T-Mobile Note 4 here. Every now and then I get a pop-up telling me Google Play Services has crashed. Any idea why this might be happening?

There's a couple annoying things that are bothering me. One, you used to be able to select your audio profile (silent, vibrate, ring) from the shutdown panel when you hold your volume button. Those are gone now, and that's how I was used to putting the phone into vibrate. Now I have to use the button in the notification panel. Not a huge deal... but why would you take AWAY buttons people may have used?

Second, and I think this may be fixable with an app update, is that the notification pull down isn't working with the gesture on my homescreen. I always have "swipe down" open the notification screen, so I don't have to reach all the way to the top of the screen to open it (quite important on a big phone too). Now for some reason that gesture is broken on my homescreen, and I have to pull down from the top of the screen to open the notification panel. I'm hoping it's something that can be fixed in the app itself, but for now it's annoying.

I'm pretty sure this is set in the gesture setting of whatever your launcher is (unsure if Touchwiz has a native one). I don't have a Note 4, but on my Samsung tablets, I set this up in Nova.

Does the tmobile version have the words tmobile on the back. I'm seeing a lot of shady things on the used market. If anyone is out looking for a used one I found this link very helpful.

I dont have an account on that forum but this is a useful way to tell if the phone is fake or not. I previously bought a s5 and compared it to my s4 and noticed alot of the similiar problems that the fake note 4 had, washed out screen, bad pic quality and a few other things that were missing. If I hadnt have had used the s4 for these 2 years and had it next to me for comparison the s5 would have looked extremely genuine especially as it was quite quick in its actions. I explained to the seller that I believed the phone was fake and listed the different reasons but it was all easily dismissed by the seller as me not knowing what im talking about. But then I remembered that I had a scale, its actually a digital kitchen scale for measuring out spices but its good to a 10th of a gram. I placed the phone on it and it was off by around 20g of what phone sites said it should weigh.
Counterfeiters may get the looks and feel down correctly but if they are using different materials then its going to weigh differently. If the weight is wrong then so is the phone.

Yeah this is one the biggest reasons for using a 3rd party launcher. I'm not aware that it's possible to do it on the stock Touchwiz launcher.

Yup, and that's what is broken. Even though it's set up right in the launcher settings it's still not working. My swipe left and right functions work, but the pull down notifications don't work.

I actually just tested it, and both the swipe up and down aren't working regardless of what shortcut I assign to either gesture. I'm using smart launcher pro, and it worked before the firmware update. May have to reinstall it and hope that works. If not might have to email the devs and see if it's a common thing they have to work through.

Well I think it is a nice phone (i have one). I think the two common complaints I hear are locked boot loader and too big. I personally don't find it too big since i use it more for web than talking but I understand the sentiment. Oh one other weak spot; is the speaker. While it is loud and clear it is not in the same league as the m8

Would you guys who have it recommend getting it or wait till the s6 comes out? I'm on the fence seeing that the s6 will be out in a few weeks.

They're really two different types of phones. One is bigger, has a stylus, replaceable battery, micro SD slot, while the other doesn't, and is smaller and newer.

Doesn't hurt to wait a couple of weeks if you want to look at an s6. Not much will change with the note 4 in the time period.

so note4 owners, how often do you actually use the stylus?

Still a Note 3 owner and: every day.

Drawing, quick sketches, writing down ideas, taking down someone's number/address (and still having it go straight into my address/phone book- awesome feature of the Note series) etc.

Well I finally updated my verizon note 4 to lollipop; kind of prefer the old icons but otherwise seems more of the same so far.
