I've exchanged a few e-mails with him and spoke with him last year when I published my phone # 866-ATOT-444. I didn't believe it was actually him, then he offered to PM me and I confirmed it was really him.

IIRC he was pretty normal on the phone (I know, I was also let down), I think he's busy with life. Whatever he's doing, I wish him well.

You know it's no fun if we just tell you. Besides, can you honestly say you've had better things to do than keep up with petty and obscure internet drama? It seems unlikely.
