Recently ive been having problems with my Opteron 148 and its kinda really annoying, i run it stock at 2.2 ghz and only my video card was flashed to 16 pixels(c3d x800gto) and windows xp pro has just been crashing, my games have all been crashing and its aggrivating!

Geez dude, half of the internet runs on Opterons, I'd like to think it's an extremely stable CPU. It's for mission-critical stuff. I think you should look elsewhere for the culprit, like your memory or graphics card.

You flashed your video card to unlock the pipelines? And you blame the crashing of games on the Opteron??

Come onnnnnn dude.

Could be cpu, memory, mb or ps. Which prime 95 test did you run. How long did it take to get the error message.

post your motherboard /ram and timings, try running memtest86, try underclocking the opteron and see what happens... If memtest fails then its not likely your processor (Unless you fried your memory controller), If it fails try using only 1 stick at a time... Report back with more details so we can help you.

Make a list of your entire machine's contents and post it here. It could be any of a multitude of things. It's highly unlikely the Opteron is bad...

its highly improbable that the opteron is the reason for your computer troubles. i would try checking each and every individual component 1st before blaming the opteron.

What's your power supply?

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come in my upcoming build which will also use an Opteron 148 CABYE 0540 FPBW and a Connect3D x800 GTO. I'm not gonna mess with the video card or overclocking the processor until everything has been running stable for at least a couple weeks.
