Making all religiously affiliated persons look bad. These two are truly idiotic.

Have they said how much money God needs us to send to them to appease him?

And God said: "I'm going to let a bunch of kids be murdered because Suzy and Mary got married!".

Sounds like what any reasonable god would do.

I doubt anyone in this forum would have given these two the time of day had you not posted the link. You're effectively feeding the trolls. If you don't give them any attention then eventually they'll go away.

And once again, God fails to intervene and save innocents.

Hucklebee and his types never point that out do they?

Well, if there is any silver lining, maybe the GOP will finally eject these lunatics from their midst…

I don't care. I felt like posting it, so I did.

That's fine - it would have to be a simultaneous sanity check by a huge chunk of society. I doubt society has enough sanity left to make that stand. I agree with you by the way - I was just trying to point out that the only reason these people have a voice is because people listen to them.

No, they never do. And there's always a flood of "where was God in this?" opinion pieces on the news sites where religious leaders try vainly to rationalize what happened.

I wonder if stupid comments such as those are directly/indirectly contributing to the rise of Atheism and decline in religiosity.

I think they have a percentage effect I'm just not sure of the percentage. It would vary depending in the religiosity of the individual hearing/seeing the comments. Even to some of the very religious the comments would ring hollow and untrue, said only to garner support from those listen to their shows and buy their DVDs and other "holy" merchandise.

I don't think it's a decline in religiosity so much as it is the other reason the article proposed; a greater willingness by individuals to identify as non-religious or agnostic/atheist.

It's all part of His plan, we are too weak- and feeble-minded to understand, nay even to contemplate the awesomeness of the Plan.:;)

Sorry but these idiots + Mike Huckabee are the base of the GOP. These are trolls, for sure, but trolls with political influence.
