I'm sure that I'll be a starter, but I don't really like the game that much, and practices are really a drag for me. I also know everyone is counting on me going out for it. What would you do?
If you don't really enjoy playing, it could be a very long season for you. The question is what better things would you have to do with your time? Are you just going to goof off and get bored or do you have something you'd rather be doing or need the time for? Is there anything about being on the team that you would miss?
Same here man. Also for baseball. I'm probably 95% sure basketball is not happening but baseball is up in the air. It's a really tough choice but the more I think about it the more I realize that I'd only be out there to prove something to myself and I don't really need to prove anything to myself. Neither sport will continue onto college unless I was a walkon and as great of an experience as it is, working let's me save up money, help my parents out, and get a little taste of the real world.
I love basketball, but my competitive playing days are over, and while it's hard to cope with at first you'll get over it eventually.
Pro is that high school sports are like none other in your lifetime unless you're really good. The con (and what I'm most afraid of for myself) is that once it's over it's over completely and you might not be able to get over that in your lifetime. It's a feeling of greatness, but at the same time it's such a minimal part of life and you'll have a false sense of failure in everything else that you do if it doesn't live up to the same glory/excitement.

We're the best in our conference, (1A - LOL), so yes, we have a chance of winning our regional, probably not much further.
As far as college, I'm not planning on doing sports in college.
I was talking about playing in one of those stadium for a HS championship. My football team won the C3 Long Island Championship both years I started, and we got to play in front of over 3,000 people each championship game in 2 different college stadiums. Boy that was a heck of an experience.
