Not sure where to position 5.1 speakers

So front right/left, and center are pretty easy. For the rear, you could either 1) put rear right on the drawer next to the shelf and rear left by the printer or 2) get speaker stands and put them behind you

yeah you don't have to spend an arm and a leg on speaker stands. i picked some up on ebay a few months ago for around $20 if i recall correctly.
as far as placement of the sub, under the desk works but if it were my setup i would put it in a corner...it distributes the bass throughout the room easier that way.

Stick 'em all on your desk. Sub under your desk.

Or, you can get two sticks from the yard. Tape your rear speakers around the sticks, and duct tape them to your chair. Put the sub under your chair for uber bass.

OR. You can tie the rear speakers to string/rope/chain suspended from the ceiling. I saw a dorm mate do that once. It worked pretty well.

OR... Just kidding. 🙂

Put front left next to the printer. Front right where the garbage can is sitting on your desk. Center goes on the monitor. Since your closet doors are not installed just put the rears up on the closet shelf as far apart as you can manage without them being behind the edges of the closet doorways. Just have to make sure they don't get knocked off the shelf somehow.

Personally I think closet doors suck anyway 😉
