Not sure what I should have done

Saturday night my wife and I took our son to Wendys for dinner, he loves the fries and frosty.

As we were leaving, a "young girl" comes in the door with nothing but a backpack, and wearing what appeared to be pajammas, and a wet sweater. My wife and I noticed that she came to the counter, got some ice water, and asked if she could sit in the lobby and warm up.

So, being the type of person I am, I buy her a meal, and talk to her a bit. Turns out she is running from an abusive boyfriend, and is tryiong to get home to Washington state, and she is 22 years old.

So after getting her a hot meal, and talking to her, we leave, but are still concerned for her. If we had not been in my truck, we would have given her a ride to the airport, because supposedly her mother had a ticket at the counter waiting on her.

And before you undersexed teen pimple farmers ask, I do not have any PICS. and she was not that "hawt" to begin with.

Just to piss you off....did you stick it in the bathroom?

Anyways, she was probably really confused that you offered her food...maybe nervous, especially since she was running from an absuive boyfriend...but I find no fault in what you did, or anything else you should have done.

Nothing else you should have done. Perhaps you should have called a taxi for her.

I've done stuff like that before. If I see a guy digging through dumpters for food I stop and buy him a burger or something. You did the right thing, and the girl will probably never forget your kindness.

That's a good return on investment. I'm sure your five bucks and a few minutes of your time was a great comfort to her. You did all you should do.

What? You bought her a meal but you didn't ask her if you could hold her hand? :p

Wow, finally someone in ATOT who gives a damn. Too bad not many people would do the same or even think of giving a helping hand. Hats off to you.

I thought about calling a taxi, but I spent the last $5.00 cash on her meal. If had a spare coat, i would have given it to her, as it was raining, and about 35 degrees outside.

Should have made her ride in the box of the truck ;)

Just kidding. I'm sure she'll figure something out. she is 22 after all.

Good for you Ulfwad. You performed a small act of kindness to someone in need. Don't berate yourself because you thought of other things you could have done that didn't occurr to you at the time.

Given that situation, you could have offered the ride to the Airport.
Put your wife beside you and the child on her lap.

If I asked to hold her hand, my wife, being a REDHEAD, might have broken my hand. And then pulled a BOBBIT on me later on. :D

In GA, I can get arrested if the kid is not in a carseat. I am sorry that I could not offer her a ride, but I am not going to jail.

BTW, my son is onl 27 months old. So he stays in the car seat,
