Not sure if this is the right forum, but how to fix "System Error 53"

So I'm trying to connect with National Instruments servers so that I can download/install some Labview stuff.

There's a link from my university's webpage that allows me to connect w/ NI servers via "net send" in a command window. The problem is that when I open that link, the command prompt will pop up showing that its trying to connect w/ NI, but after about 20 sec., a "System Error 53" shows up, closes the command window, and nothing happens.

I looked up what system error 53 was in windows help file and it says that its a problem regarding tcp/ip or something? I'm almost 100% sure that it has somthing to do w/ my router not being configured right, but again, I can't say for sure.

I'm using Cable modem (time warner), XP Pro, SMC router.

Anyways, anyone know how to go about fixing this?

Thanks.

I don't really know but I am guessing that you have to find out what port the software wants to use and open the port in your routers command program.

thats what i would suggest, or if you don't figure out the port, make yourself the DMZ and all the ports will be passed through
